Provide SSN# or retake NCLEX

Published

My one year extension to provide SSN# is about to expire in Sept. There is no guarantee that they will grant another extension. If i don't provide SSN#, they will destroy my file and i will have to retake NCLEX again. Do you guys know if Vermont destroys file if you don't provide SSN#?

What state are you talking about? VT does not require SSN for either licensure or renewal, although if you have one you must provide it. ie. VT give you a license once you pass credential evaluation and NCLEX even without SSN.

i am also worried regarding my nclex(california).. do we really have to take the nclex again if our file at cali is destroyed??

If your file is destroyed by CA then your record of taking and passing NCLEX is also destroyed.

thank you SILVERDRAGON

how about if I was able to get the visa screen?? does my file will still be destroyed?? and what if after 5 years, will it also destroyed then??

VSC requires a pass in NCLEX or CGFNS and proof, if your CA file has been destroyed then you no longer have proof and this is as far as I am aware same for initial application as well as CGFNS VSC renewal.

If you plan on working in the US then it is to your advantage to maintain your NCLEX results either by a state that will issue a license and you maintain it or a state that doesn't destroy your file and NCLEX results

I'm curious, does pearsonvue also maintain records of your results? If it does how long do they maintain your records for?

I would be surprised if they kept results beyond a certain period of time considering the large amount of different tests they facilitate but would be a good question to ask them,
