I am not asking for any legal advice. I just want to see if anyone ever had to have a hearing at there BON and prove they are of good moral character so they can get their license? Just wanted to know if anyone had any success with this
Thanks

I thought the character check was done through our criminal and child abuse background checks?

hmmmm.
i remember signing something, attesting that i was of good, moral character.
i think i did, anyway.
never had to 'prove' it, per se.
i suppose if i did, i would seek letters of recommendation from instructors, employers, my mom (), clergy, etc.
best of luck to you.

The only experience I have around this issue is writing a letter of recommendation for a coworker who was "reviewed" or whatever the term is by the BON for a serious med error she made. The woman was a wonderful nurse and person and that is basically what I said in the letter... besides some examples of where she went above and beyond the call of duty for her patients....etc. She REALLY deserved a second chance and the board did give it to her. I believe they are reasonable people and probably can see people's characters pretty easily, in most cases. This was certainly true with the nurse I am speaking of..
The hardest issue was for her to forgive herself and to see herself as competent and 'worthy' of being in nursing again.
