Prospects after graduation?

Published

Are you guys worried about finding a job after graduation? I am, sort of. I've been reading the forum for a long time - and every time I read the story of a new grad. having difficulty finding work or even and EXPERIENCE RN having trouble I get a little anxious.

My professors go on and on about this "nursing shortage". I wonder how much of it is true and how much is just bologna.

Anyway - just wondered what the rest of you think.

I feel like this forum causes a LOT of worry. People who find jobs easily are probably less likely to come on here (that is, if they weren't already posting already). This forum is for resources (and support, but I still feel like people are more likely to find it to begin with when they're trying to solve a problem, such as looking for a job).

Don't get me wrong - it's a tough market. For EVERYONE. That being said, if you're looking in the right places, have made connections, volunteered, and really know your stuff, changes are you'll be much better off than a lot of folks on this forum would have you believe. :redpinkhe

at the moment Im just enjoying nursing school, making the most of what I have, having fun with great friends and when on clinicals-feeling like Im making a difference. there is no point worrying about what jobs will be there and what wont be available to us. worrying doesnt solve anything, it just makes us upset and I dont want to be upset.....maybe Im dealing with it by ignoring it, but Im happy. whats meant to be will be :) best of luck in :)

I will have to disagreed with you beacuse while this is a support fourm for many its also a home for many who come in here everyday to answer any question anyone might have. It is evident that many post other stuff too such as their story, funny things, shared their ideas, and provided support prn. I have been here for at least 2 years n i have met amazing people such as day2night (sorry if i spelled it wrong). We all came here for a reason and we should all give back to this fourm by participating in helping the newbies to the site and their concerns.

Even though i dont have an RN job, i am not complaining. I am telling my experince. I did have a hard time dealing with not having an RN job but i am not gonna go begging for a job. I know my stuff (how much can a new grad know if they are not given the chance). I am not picky either. I will take the first offer that comes my way. With my new schedule with school and all the volunteer hrs i am already scheduled for from school. I dont have time to squeeze anymore in. Still i come in here and provide my support in best that i can. I am not here because i need a job.

Sorry for the mistakes i posted this from my phone so there is errors.

Even tho i might not have a job
