Prospective LPN student in NYC looking for advice

U.S.A. New York

Published

Dear friends,

I am very new to all this and would like to ask you a few questions.

Would be great if you can help me to find answers.

I want to become a LPN student and looking for a LPN program in NYC. I live in Manhattan and do not really want to (unless I have to) commute to up state NY or NJ.

I already checked a lot of schools and I guess the options are Bronx Community College, LaGuardia Community College, Hostos Community College, Medgar Evers College and NYC Health Hospitals Corporation LPN program.

I am trying to choose which school would be better for me in terms of

a) Tuition fee

b) Education quality

c) Appropriate (for me) level of entrance exam and entrance requirements

English is not my first language and obviously it's not perfect.

Also I do have a HS Diploma from another country and last time been at school in 1989.

Any suggestion, ideas, advice, tips..?

Thank you so much for your time

Regards to all of you

Good luck!

Thank you very much for your reply and information. Schools like Monroe and Lincoln tech wants 21000-24000$ i think it's way to much!! I will definitely take a look on Hafa.

Also would be nice to know in which school the requirements to get in are not so high.

Thank you again for all your help.

Try VEEB. It's a great program. No requirements as far as education just HS diploma. The entrance exam is very basic. They want you to be at a 9th grade math level and 11 grade reading and vocab. The info is on their site.http://www.veeb.org/LPN_main.php The is also a thread in the LPN Student form about it.
