Project topic-Advanced Nurse Practitioner Student

Published

Hello,

I am working a topic paper for my project course for my FNP degree. I cannot think of a topic. The paper is in the end to be a tool for me to be able to use in practice once I graduate. An example that comes to mind is the forms that are given to the parent and teacher for ADHD. I would like my topic to possibly be over pulmonary or skin diseases but really would just like A topic. When I ask the teacher she just tells me to clear my mind and it will come to me. Well, it hasn't, so I am asking for help!! She said it is not a research paper, making it even more confusing for me.

Thanks!

I did asthma education for school personnel. I had a hard time coming up with a topic too, but I found this one as my nephew had recently been dx with asthma and had no action plan, and my mom, a school teacher, also had lots of kids with asthma.

Look over Clinical Guidelines for Practice and pick the one that is most needed for all lifespans. Perhaps a topic on stress management. For children, there is stress with school or friends. For adults, the stress of working or raising a family. For the elderly, the stress of aging and chronic illnesses.

By recognizing the symptoms of chronic stress (insomnia, anxiety, prolong feelings of sadness or hopelessness, headaches, rapid weight loss, ETOH abuse), there are ways of dealing with it (therapy, acupuncture, antidepressants, support groups or discovering hobbies)

Hope it helps. Good luck!

I ended up doing: The Effects Exercise Has on Lipid and Lipoprotein Levels for Postmenopausal Women. Learned a ton!

Hello! I am just curious as to what you did for your specific intervention? This does sound like a very interesting topic! Thank you :)
