I was looking for some information, and found a few job postings that described their hospital as "progresive." What does this mean?

It's not a very specific word, but it basically means that they change their practices to keep up with the times and that they're always looking for new ways to improve. In other words, up-to-date, not old-fashioned, etc.

Progressive usually goes hand-in-hand with 'state of the art'. A progressive hospital would be willing to try new things and have a broader view of healthcare needs.
Keep in mind though, that this is just the hospital's description of itself. Even the most backwards, ancient hospital could claim to be progressive.
Facilities with atrociously high turnover rates will say the right words to every applicant just to get nurses past the front door and working for them.
Thanks for the answers! :-)
