  1. I get a huge chocolate milkshake with extra whip cream! Congratulations on finishing the semester and getting into NS!!
  2. I'm sorry your sad! :icon_hug:But don't give up!! There is still a really good chance that you will get in! At my school they told us people change their plans all of the time and the people on the waiting list do get in! In fact, last year at my school everyone on the waiting list got in. Keep your head up!!
  3. Congrats!! I will be done May 26th with all my pre-reqs. I can't wait!
  4. I completely agree with you! I was really mad when they changed it also. It sounds so much better the other way. I usually still call it Cal State Hayward though - old habits are hard to break!
  5. Date Received: 04/27/2006 Program: BSN School: Cal State East Bay State: California When: Fall 2006 Congratulations to everyone who got accepted and good luck to those who are still waiting - it will come!!!!
  6. I'm sorry you didn't get in Andy!!! :icon_hug: Don't give up though. Just because you were placed on the alternate list doesn't mean you won't get in. The school that I'll be attending in the Fall accepted all 20 people on their waiting list last year due to increased funding and people changing their minds. I just called the first school I got accepted to and told them I wouldn't be attending because I chose another school. They told me this happens all the time, which means the people on the wait list do get accepted! Plus you're still waiting on two more schools. I got denied for my first school also and was crushed, but my other two schools accepted me - SO DON'T GIVE UP!! Keep you head up - it will happen for you!! Good luck!!
  7. I just found out that I got accepted to Cal State East Bay yesterday. I have a 4.0 GPA and I was in the 99th percentile on the TEAS. I don't know what the average GPA and scores were that got accepted this year, but at the info session I went to, they told us last year the average GPA was 3.8 and the average for the TEAS was in the 98th percentile. They also told us that about 800 students apply and 80 get accepted. It went up from 65 last year due to the Concord campus. I also got accepted to CSU Stanislaus. My counselor had told me to apply there because it is a brand new school and many people don't know about it yet, so not as many apply, so you stand a better chance. Also as someone pointed out earlier, volunteer work can help you. CSU East Bay doesn't look at it, but other schools do such as San Francisco State and Stanislaus. I got denied at SFSU because I had no volunteer work. I hope this helps! Good luck to you!! With your GPA and determination it sounds like you will do fine!!
  8. congratulations!!!!! :biere: :balloons: :smiley_aa
  9. Congratulations!!!!! :balloons: :balloons:
  10. congratulations jen!!!!! have fun and celebrate!!! :balloons: :balloons: :nurse:
  11. Congratulations!!!:balloons: :balloons:
  12. congratulations!!!!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:
  13. I got accepted at CSU Stanislaus today!!!!!!! I almost passed out when I got the letter!!! And to think last week at this time I was crying because I got a denial letter!! Now I just have to wait for my #1 choice school - the letter is supposed to be here in about three weeks. Take it from me - don't give up!! I thought last week it was all over and it's not!! I'M GOING TO BE A NURSE!!!!! Thanks for everyone's support!!
  14. I am so sorry to hear that. :icon_hug: You're not alone!! I also got a rejection letter, but I realized we can't give up!!!! You've worked this hard - you can do it!! Keep your head up and try again!!
  15. Thanks soooooo much everybody!!! Everyone has made me feel so much better!! You guys are right - I'm not going to give up - I've worked way too hard to get this far. I'm just going to pray that one of my other schools accept me and if not I'll just start volunteering like crazy for the next year and try again! I'm determined to become a nurse no matter how many times I have to reapply. Thanks for the support!! I don't know what I would do without this forum! :)
  16. I got my letter today and I was denied!! I've been crying all day. I'm just so upset. I work my butt off and get a 4.0 and I still get denied because I don't have volunteer work! I work full time and all of the hospitals around here require these huge commitments to volunteer. I think it is ridiculous that someone with not as good grades can get accepted first just because they might have volunteered for six months?!? :angryfire The other thing is that 50% of the students get kicked out because they can't keep their grades up!!! This seems to me that they would want to accept the students with the better grades so they would be able to stick the program out!!I'm still waiting on a couple of other schools (letters don't come until May) but now I'm scared because I don't have a backup school to go to anymore. If these schools deny me that's it. Sorry I'm complaining soooooo much - I'm just angry and heartbroken. I tried so hard and wanted this soooo badly.
  17. congratulations!!!!! :balloons:
  18. hey hopecandy - In my opinion the TEAS test is a lot of review of what you have learned in the past. The problem for me was the math section - some of it I had learned nine years ago!! The study guide really helped me on that part because I really needed to review! The science section is mainly questions involving experiments and how to go about doing them. I found that there was really no way to study for those, they are more common sense. If you have the time, looking at the study guide put out by ATI testing is really helpful. It goes over a lot of what is on the test and prepares you for the real thing. I was really nervous before taking it, but after it was done, I remember thinking that it wasn't so bad. Good luck!!
  19. Congratulations!! :balloons: It definantly sounds like you have everything to make you a top choice!! Good Luck!!
  20. 80 seats and 800 applicants!!
  21. I've also applied for Fall '06 and I'm waiting to hear back from five different schools. The letters are supposed to come end of April/early May. These are the longest two months of my life!!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY!!!!
  22. I was going to apply there, but I couldn't when I found out you have to have all of your pre-reqs completed before applying! I'm taking micro right now, so if I don't get accepted into any of the other schools I applied to, I plan on applying there next year. From what I've heard it is a great school with a great nursing program. Good luck!!
  23. Hi Remee - This is a GREAT support group!! I check in almost every single day. I am taking micro right now and it is hard, but at least it's interesting (if that helps you get through it any easier :)). Congratulations on starting your clinicals in August! That's great! I'm from Dublin, CA, so I'm kind of close to you!
  24. I completley agree with you!! It's driving me crazy!! I think about it constantly and I find it really hard to concentrate on school! I just try not to think about it too much and hope the time will go fast! It'll be here before you know it! Good luck! :)
  25. congratulations!!!! that is a fantastic score!! good luck!!
