  1. Welcome back!
  2. I have those days too.
  3. You must get a lawyer. I would not spend one more moment pondering, what if this, what if that. Bottom line. You know the truth. Don't doubt yourself.
  4. Never give up hope. It usually takes time to find someone to give you a chance. Always go in with a positive attitude. Know that you are strong in your recovery. A positive attitude and persistence is important. Best of luck!
  5. This to shall pass. I promise you both that life will get better. Keep being honest with yourself and those you love. In 6 months you will look back and see how strong you are.
  6. I have nothing positive to tell you about IPN. I have no idea how an attorney can help. You would need to contact them. Some attorneys advise you call them before contacting IPN. I can tell you how it will go without an attorney. You go to the evaluation. The evaluator will make a recommendation to IPN regarding your "sentence." IPN will give you a contract. Should you refuse the contract, they will notify the BON. As the BON is already involved, they will want to know that you are compliant with IPN. It is gonna cost a lot of money. With or without an attorney.
  7. You do not have to ask for permission for the surgery. As your other questions. I don't know. I hope your procedure is uneventful.
  8. UF health jax hires LPN in some departments. Check St Vincents job site too. Some mental health facilities hire LPNs. Even if the job says experience required, it can not hurt to apply. Best of luck in your search.
  9. I switched to days 6 months ago after 10 years on nights. My family life has greatly improved, which is what is important. My work life is hell. I love my patients. The families and loved ones of my patients are soul sucking. This last week has been a true test of my professionalism.
  10. I did ask at Labcorp. The tech said she didn't know. She did comment that "everybody" was asking about and complaining about the cost.
  11. Great. More money I don't have.
  12. Slow down. Take a breath. First of all, why are you being required to have an evaluation? How did you get involved with IPN?
  13. Yes. ICU does change how you view life.
  14. Unfortunately, I think it is the norm now. My last evaluation was $1200, included hair, blood and an observed urine. It was recommended by the evaluator that I enter his treatment facility. Even though all my test were negative and I had already been in IPN 3 years.
  15. I am seeing the same thing. When someone in our group questioned her case manager she was told she had been selected for a random test. I had the m test return as prescription positive. I don't know positive for what. I have a little over a year left to go too.
  16. Yep. Had the M panel this month.
  17. I can be a bit cranky until the coffee kicks in. Just a thought.
  18. I would just like to thank you for sharing your story. You are helping so many of us who may find ourselves in a similar situation. BIG HUG It is not your fault. I totally understand nurse guilt. I am sending healing vibrations your way.
  19. Before you do anything else, go to a meeting. NA or AA. Does not matter. This is your first step to developing coping skills. You need to know that you are not the only person in the world going through this struggle. We have been there. The first steps are the hardest. For me, I dropped everything and checked myself in for a 7 day detox. I had to get away from my life for a little while. When I got out of detox, I started IOP. From there, I had established a little foundation to help get me through everything I had to deal with in the future. BON, IPN, unemployment, sobriety, meetings, family etc. Just keep doing the next right thing. Big Hug. You can do it.
  20. At this time, if it is not effecting your work, I would keep it to myself. Absolutely get the help you need. If at all possible I would try to keep the BON out of it.
  21. Al-anon will be an excellent place to get support. Take care of yourself. You did not cause your husbands addiction. As a recovering addict, my husbands support has meant the world to me. I wish your family all the best. There will be happy times again. Promise.
  22. If possible try to find an evaluator who is independent from an inpatient treatment facility. Almost all evaluations done by providers connected to a inpatient clinic will recommend their services. If you can start a IOP before your evaluation that would be great. It shows you are concerned and already taking steps towards your recovery.
  23. Ask your case manager for the names of the docs. Just give the doctor offices a call. They will give you the cost. Keep in mind, most of the professionals IPN will send you too have "special" IPN pricing. It is more expensive and IPN may decide not to let you use private insurance for the evaluation.
