  1. nursing school and pledging

I am sure it is do-able -- I never was involved with a fraternity, but I did work 40 hours a week and was involved with Student Nurses Association while in nursing school and I managed to do well.
  2. Took NCLEX without studying. Anyone else?

Lol.. Go to Pearsonvue.com and log into your account and you can see your score there (given that your state allows you to get your "quick results"). There is a 900 # and I think it is 1-900-77-NCLEX or something similar to that.
  3. Results sooner than two days?

I think it depends on the state. I don't know of any state that will post something that indicates you failed your exam; however, some states issue new grads temporary RN licenses. In my state, you are issued a temporary license that is good for 90 d...
  4. Results sooner than two days?

It depends on the hospital and the state. In my state, we are issued temporary RN licenses after graduation that are good for 90 days. Many hospitals hire new grads on those permits and then wait for them to pass their boards.
  5. Results sooner than two days?

To be honest, the exam is a huge blur. I was honestly in some sort of trance when I took it (or what felt like a trance). I walked out of there thinking "Oh my god.. what just happened??" I don't recall many of my questions, except that I felt as if ...
  6. Took the nclex 9/23 and i think i failed

Everyone feels as if they failed -- it is impossible to gauge how you did on the exam. I took my exam on Monday and didn't feel horrible about it but didn't feel great about it. I figured I must have failed. But in fact, I did not. :) Most people en...
  7. Results sooner than two days?

PearsonVue actually posted mine roughly 44 hours later -- I just got them this morning. I passed. :)
  8. God give me strength

Gene, I am sure you did great!! I am in same boat as you.. I took my exam Monday and it shut off at 75 questions. I can look at my results tomorrow. Everyone feels like they failed, but in reality 85% of us pass! :) Good luck and get some rest!
  9. Took NCLEX without studying. Anyone else?

There was a student in my class that took the NCLEX without studying -- granted, she managed to maintain a near perfect 4.0 in nursing school. And she passed with 75 questions. If I didn't have a job lined up, a manager that has a ton of faith in me...
  10. Today was horriable

Dee -- your exam sounds very similar to mine. I took mine on Monday (same testing center as yours). The only difference is I did not have that many priority, which scares me. I probably had 5 or 6 priority, a lot of pharm, some infection control, 10 ...
  11. Nclex

I agree that because you got the minimum # of the questions -- that does not correlate to passing. After I took my exam on Monday, PearsonVue gave me an NCLEX handout that discusses what the # of questions mean and it says the same thing.. that you ...
  12. the battle is over.!!!

Congrats to both of you!! I find out tomorrow.
  13. the NCLEX exam

Congrats!!! I did not get a whole lot of prioritization questions.. which scares me. My exam seemed incredibly difficult though (good thing hopefully?). I find out on Wednesday if I passed though.
  14. Nclex-rn

You did some serious preparation!! I focused on Kaplan QBank and a bit of Saunders. I am so glad I did Kaplan QBank because the NCLEX felt like I was taking a practice QBank exam... just much harder.
  15. Nclex-rn

Mine too shut off at 75 questions and I had a TON of meds and 10 - 15 SATA questions and a few "put in order" questions. I only had 1 math question (are math questions considered "high" level questions?? it seems as if they wouldn't). I feel like I ...
  16. Nclex-rn

Debbie I must say that I have never been a religious person (I just wasn't raised in that type of environment), but this NCLEX has brought out the religious part of me!! I have been asking for guidance from Him everyday.
  17. Nclex-rn

I take it on the 22nd @ 0800 as well! Good luck to you!! Positive thoughts will be sent your way. :)
  18. God give me strength

Regarding Kaplan QBank -- those questions are tough! Very very few of them are of the lowest level of difficulty. Most of them are medium to high difficulty. According to Kaplan, they advise you to try and achieve 65% on QBank questions. On the NCLE...
  19. Telling a patient/family that a mistake was made

When I worked as a nurse apprentice I once told a a child's mom that a PICC line that was entered was entered incorrectly -- I proceeded to tell her that this is why we do a chest x-ray to verify placement and the IV nurse would be back up to insert ...
  20. Is NCSBN helpful?

Our class had to do NCSBN and I did not like it -- it had far too much content and not enough questions. Just my opinion though.
  21. May have to postpone NCLEX!

Dee -- I live in the same state as you and there were a few students from my class that were affected by this as well. I would talk to your employer about this and see what they say. I also have a question that perhaps you, or someone else, can ans...
  22. Just took NCLEXRN/ton of Sata

I am sure you did well. I hate SATA questions and I hope the ones I get on the NCLEX are those questions that do not count. Each exam has 15 questions that do not count toward your score and I hope every SATA I get fall within that category. :) But ...
  23. Just took NCLEXRN/ton of Sata

Traci -- were the SATA questions on material that you knew or were they really off-the-wall type. Did you use a strategy when ansewring SATA?
  24. Good evidence based practice websites

http://www.guideline.gov Those are the national guidelines for evidence-based practice.
  25. Test dates for Nclex?

I live in a city of nearly 1.5 million population and we only have one testing center -- I was quite suprised!
