Thank you Ruby.- "You've got the wrong Mary" ... A Vent About Rude Doctors
I can relate to OP rant. A call had came into to my office about doing an injection in our office that another MD ordered, but mom doesn't want to drive to that docs office for the injection. I tell her that I need to talk to our NM, and will get back to her. Then this woman starts yelling at me that's she's a MD and it's only an IM injection, and it's so easy to do. Ummmm, if it's that easy why don't you just do it yourself doc?- Things you'd like to say to....
- Student Nurse "Help me!" Threads
I believe what the OP is saying that if you ask for advise and/or help, the polite thing to do is thank the people that have years of experience helping you. Don't be rude, and please don't get snotty with them. Learn some respect. I may have not written an individual thank you to each person that has answered my questions, but at least I acknowledge them. So thank you ladies and gents for all your help, and all your hard work.- which healthcare position course would be best first to take? MA or CNA
I would start with CNA first. The training is shorter, and will give you a basic knowledge before you decide if you want to do MA. If you decide to do MA, my advise would to look into a CC first before you look at some of those "for profit" schools. I don't know what all CC's offer, but you can end up with an Associates degree which in some place gets you higher pay, and better opportunities. Goods luck!- Firing employees who refuses to come into work.
I remember those phones. No caller ID back then.- Fired for posting on face book
I'm not sure why some people post bad things about the company they work for on FB. If you need to vent about it, maybe they need to vent to a friend, not on the internet. It looks like not much common sense was used at all. My co-workers are my "friends" on FB, and not only is nothing negative ever said, but we all try to support each other in very day life. That's why I keep my posts short and quiet.- What's the funniest most unusual baby name?

- Culturally insensitive patients
I was born in the suburbs of Chicago, but apparently I have an accent, so I've been told. My favorite response to the where do I come from question....... Earth. Keep your head up and have a great weekend. :)- If I fail last semester, can I transfer elsewhere out-of-state?
Most prerequisites may transfer depending on class compatibility, but any core classes will not transfer. Talk to your dean to see if they can help you, or put you in the right direction.- I got it!!!!
You can go with a generic answer such as you are accepting a position that complements your expertise and is an opportunity that can't be passed up. Congrats on the new job and good luck!- Which Dansko shoe is better?
With so many different types of Dansko shoes out, can I get opinions on which ones you like. I work in a office in peds and physical season is starting soon, and I cannot take another summer changing shoes twice a day. Also, should I get patent leather shoe or something different. Lots of fluids from my wee little ones. Any advise is appreciated.- Job interview?
I agree with goo, but you should also follow up with an email or call thanking her for the interview and that you are looking forward to hearing from her. Good luck!- Can Anyone Help Me?
We had first time parents frantically bring in a week old baby. I rushed them back to see the doc, and when I asked what the problem was, their response was that the baby's gas smells bad. Ummm, did you think it was going to smell like roses?- a&p 1 in four weeks?!?!?!?!
First, take a deep breath. My advise would be to get the book for your class and start reading. The first few chapters should just be refreshers from bio and chem. After that you start getting into all the fun stuff like bones and muscles. Make flash cards for those chapters, and if you can finds a method that help you memorize things better it will help. There are mnemonics for the bones in the wrist. Everyone has their own that works for them. Use online tools too. Sometimes they can help. Good luck to you.- Is there any truth to this?
Just my two cents. I work in a peds office and many parents call to say that their child is burning up with a fever. The most common answer I get when I ask how high the temp is 98.9. Usually from parents that panic if the sneeze once. Oh how I love all my kids. The saucy ones crack me up when they tell me they feel fine, but mom insists they are horribly ill. The answer to what a normal temperature I give my parents is that it depends from person to person. I do have some kids that run warmer and a few that are around 97.4.- 2013 ICD-9 CM and CPT coding books
You can look online for some used books. I got mine at half.com or you could always rent the books for the term. Make sure you have the ISBN number.- can you give injections
Added: by injections for medical assistants I meant vaccines. At my office, any other meds that need to be dispensed are done by the MD.- can you give injections
You can't give injections as a CNA. As a medical a assistant you can give injections only when a physician is present per the orders.- Issues with another student
I would not only talk to your fellow student, but also your instructor. Explain that this attitude is not acceptable, nor will you tolerate any type of an attempt to sabotage your academic track. Good luck on your achievement, and keep your head up.- should i take a cpr class now or...?
My experience is that you have to have your CPR done prior to employment. My employer does not pay for certification. For your CPR class, I would look for a local fire department that offers classes. I will be doing mine in 2 weeks and the cost I'd only $45 for American Red Cross for the healthcare professional. - You think the "Nursing Glut" is bad now?
