Lived all around the country. Took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. :o) Massage therapy school gave me the confidence to go back to school to become a CNM--I resisted becoming a nurse in the past because I didn't think I could handle the science. Considering I've gotten As and Bs in my science classes so far and made it through my first nursing semester with an A is proof that one can do well even at their "worst" subject.
While working as a massage therapist I took an extensive continuing education course that included pregnancy massage, postpartum massage, advanced perinatal massage, teaching infant massage, and a DONA doula and childbirth education class. This really peaked my interest in supporting natural-as-posssible births. I think it's a great way to empower mothers and get babies off to a good start.
You'll probably be missing time if you go the ADN route now. It's not like you can apply over the summer for a program and get in the fall--probably the earliest would be spring semester, later if you...

I would suggest getting your BSN after you're past your "fourth trimester", however long that ends up being for you. You could probably be able to do half-time for your pre-reqs while you're trying to...

Your boyfriend sounds like an ass. Make it clear to him all the reasons why you want to be a NA, and then tell him he can support you or go somewhere else. I usually soften my responses with "You...

Not only is it too much, the degree you get is essentially worthless: those programs tend to be lacking in proper clinical areas so it's near impossible to get a job, and none of your classes will...

My school (CCAC-Allegheny) did a really odd thing in the spring semester: we were told we needed to buy the $170 books for first semester and they had to be from from school bookstore (though they...

No leader can force people to follow, however, you can incentive while CYA: what you can do is make it clear you're keeping track of everything (if you are, and if you're not, I would highly suggest...

I would say yes, that is too much to expect pretty much anyone to learn in six weeks. You _might_ pass all of them, but probably just barely--and probably be overstressed the whole time--so if your...
