    Temple's New to Practice Program

Don't assume you didn't get the job! They may take a little while to filter through everyone and want to get everyone who is hired for june/july squared away before they start the August cohort. They were giving people answers up to one week before the August cohort started last year! I know it is so nerve-wracking but hang tight..!

    Temple's New to Practice Program

For N2P they hire externally, my point was that the jobs listed on there for different floors mean nothing to new grads. They are posted for internal/external candidates w/ at least 1 year experience. I know when the last group was hired there were over 400+ apps for 30 spots, so it was really hard to get status updates while they were going through all of the apps.

    Temple's New to Practice Program

Don't give up hope! If you are a new grad, those 90 job apps mean nothing. Temple does not hire new grads into any of those positions, they are strictly for people with experience. I have said something to HR about them changing the job requirements on that page to say "at least 1 year experience required", but they haven't yet. You will only get hired by filling out the application for the New to Practice program, and going through the hire process that way. All of those other jobs legally have to be posted for internal candidates b/c of the union, not because Temple truly has a spot for external applicants. My advice is just keep following up w/ the N2P app and not apply for the others so you don't raise a red flag with how many apps declined in the system. I am part of the N2P program hired in July (which was a huuuge 30 something hire), so they are probably interviewing and hiring as spots become available this time around. Hope this helps!

    Temple's New to Practice Program

Hey! Coming from a New to Practice Nurse here are some things to anticipate once you are contacted from the Nurse Recruiter/HR: 1) An e-mail from HR requesting undergraduate transcripts/2 letters of recommendation/maybe one other thing (can't remember?) 2) A reply e-mail with links to two tests that are to be taken on your own time @ home (one is med/surg, one is pharm - both were fairly easy) 3) If you pass the tests (I'm assuming you need to in order to move forward) you will be sent an e-mail that you have been selected for a N2P interview & given the time/date 4) You reply to the e-mail with your preferences of 3 units you wish to be interviewed for/work on..and any questions you may have 5) Arrive at your interview with your RN license, CPR cert, and finally interview with a panel of nurses (hopefully from the floors you selected..usually depends on the number of open positions on the floors you chose) 6) WAIT A LOOOONG 2ish weeks & receive a Congratulations e-mail! From that point you may only know you have a job - but not the exact unit, shift or pay @ that time but at least you've been selected!! Just an FYI this hire group is supposed to start December/January..Temple hires new grads for all Med/Surg Units/ICUs/ED/OR depending on open positions in the hospital after all of the jobs have been posted internally (law by the union)..& most people found themselves on the floors they wished to be on! Orientation will be 1 full week of classroom and 12 weeks with a preceptor then you're alll on your own but continue with N2P classes, certifications, etc. for months to come :) Best of luck to everyone!

Has anyone else applied to Jefferson's FACT program?

Hello! Has anyone else from the second review period heard anything yet? I have a few friends at Jeff and heard that some of their application processing can and will take up until the last minute. I'm just curious how many people have been contacted for interviews, and if you aren't contacted for an interview..do they send you something you haven't been accepted before December 31st? Anyone have any ideas?

    WCU Accelerated BSN, any thoughts?

Great!! I was also accepted to ACE but love West Chester's program so I am most definitely going there. I have about a 40 minute commute, and am still away at school getting my first undergrad degree so I have to wait until summer for the class you are taking in the spring. I think it will be okay though! Looking forward to meeting everyone :)

    WCU Accelerated BSN, any thoughts?

Congrats everyone! I had my interview today and was accepted today as well. Wondering if any of you are definitely committing to the program, and if not what other schools are you considering? Is anyone commuting to WCU and if so where from?
