UPS Drivers make HOW much????
Miggs73 Wow is that all we nurses do? My day consists of assessing patients continuously watching for signs of worsening condition! When a code happens pumping on someone's chest when their heart stops and giving them breaths with the ambubag! When and if the patient passes away having the responsibility of telling the family their loved one has passed! Suctioning patients who have trachs and vents, giving them their meds. We are the eyes for the dr if we don't see it by our assessments and let the dr know patients can die. Really it sounds to me that yes you may make plenty of money but you need to educate yourself on what the job description of a nurse is!!!!!!

G Tube Placement or Not...
All of my patients have GTubes/Peg tubes and we do instill air and check residual before each flush - I would have contacted the Dr as well and held the feed!

Did I just sabotage my career before it even started?
Take it from a new grad (August) who is having much trouble. I have four children to feed. You would be foolish to turn down any offer. There many new nurses that would die to find a hospital job (including myself). Take it!!!!!!

What to do?
So I graduated in August with my associates and have been looking for a job ever since! I really want a hospital job but no such luck! I recently got offered a position at a rehabilitation center on the vent unit but it's only 4 days every 2 weeks with the possibility of extra hours! Do I take the first job offered?

So discouraged
Hi graduated in August and passed NCLEX in September with my ADN. Put in lots of apps and had 3 interviews - 1 said since I'm a new grad they would start me at LPN rate - what???? One was at a doctors office which was only going to pay low teens! I had an interview at the hospital I want and no luck! Been applying to hospitals all around and nothing! I don't know what to do! I'm a mother of 4 and my loans will be coming due. I start my BSN program in January so maybe that will help! Any advice? Should I call the hospitals and ask about my apps?
