  1. Help! I can't find a job.

You should able for any and everything to get experience quick and your foot in the door not hild out for where you want to work. Most hospitals allow internal transfers within 6 months.
  2. Need advice about school

I would avoid a for profit adn they are usually more expensive, have low nclex pass rates, low conpletion rates, and limit the number of places where you will be able to pursue an online rn to bsn.

  6. HCA Staffing incentives

Its not just HCA. My facility offers no incentive for working extra what so ever. If my unit doesn't need help I mostly see screw it.
  7. Is all Med/Surg experience the same? (peds vs adult)

Pediatric med surg exp would be most relevant to Pediatric travel positions not adults. Travel positions usually provide little to no orientation and you are expected to hit the ground running. What kind of nursing job are you interested in. I've kno...
  8. Treated Like Black Plague

I've read on the recovery forum that some nurses with prior issues have had luck getting jobs with home health and hospice. I would try outpatient dialysis clinics as well.
  9. How do you get hired as a Phlebotomist with no experience?

What about urgent care or a doctor's office? Apply anyway they may work with you.
  10. What to in the future

My friend travels for work. She works for the state and I have seen a lot of their rn positions require travel including overnight. They do not have np positions like that here that I am aware of. She evaluates individuals for resources so she is nit...
  11. CEU's during suspension? Where should I go for them

You could try conferences, those ceu books they send in the mail, lunch and learns at local hospitals, state nursing association publications, nurse certification websites like pcnb, and state board of nursing website.
  12. Nursing program help?! Chamberlain, mcfatter, Miami Dade?!

If you really need evebing classes I've only heard if that for asn programs. You can then do an rn to bsn online. Every accelerated bsn I'm familiar with discouraged working. Asn programs are usually cheaper.
  13. Nurse admin as new grad

My hospital has a job posting like that its a new grad residency program not a real nursing admin position.
  14. STAFFING SURVEY

    1:4 in Alabama
  15. Can I loose my license over this?

    What ended up happening?
  16. Leaving first job, did you have a pay increase?

Went from base of $20 to $18.59 to get out of a nearly two hour drive. New job had cheaper benefit s, lower taxes, and saving on gas. Less stress too.
  17. Do you have a free charge nurse on your unit?

Charge nurses at my hospital take a full or reduced patient load. Small hospital. Ive also worked at a tertiary medical center where all except the dayshift charge took a full patient load when the doctors still wrote orders.
  18. Turning down PRN job offer?

Could you talk to her fast and tell her you can't do more than 2 days a week. Do theyself schedule or will you fill in the schedule as needed. As prn your hours aren't guaranteed and at my workplace your called off first so maybe the weeks when its...
  19. Direct entry NP, switch to bedside RN?

I'm not 100 percent but I think if you are sued you are held to your highest liscense. So if anything happens at the bedside they can say you should have known because your a licensed np.
  20. Direct entry NP, switch to bedside RN?

Stay an np. I think looking for women's health jobs is a good suggestion.
  21. Which specialty do you recommend? FNP, PNP, or another?

You can look up salaries for your area on glassdoor.com for both specialities.
