I loved Valley! I went right when I was done with all my didactics to solidify a few things. A buddy in his second semester went with me too. He got a little lost during the regional section, but for the most part he enjoyed it. I guess it depends on...
A few people in their second semester from my school attended Valley along with us who had just finished the last didactic semester. They were lost during the regional section because they hadn't taken it yet. I guess it depends on how your program i...
Sure. But I was well under the year mark when I applied. And I was in the ICU 13 months total. So technically two months from the orientation were counted. But with OT and extra shifts, it probably evened out.
My 3 month orientation counted towards my year of ICU experience. By the time the program started, I was a few months over my one year anniversary so it was a moot point.
With a great sense of relief and accomplishment, I can bump this thread and state "just finished my third (and last didactic) semester of CRNA school! Ask me anything!"
If you have another computer with Microsoft office, then an iPad would work. Formatting APA papers and power points on an iPad can be difficult. I personally prefer the MacBook pro. You can get basically any program on it now and the stability factor...
You're welcome! I enjoy chatting, and this is sort of therapeutic for me as I procrastinate on studying for tomorrow's exam! Your first semester might be different from mine depending on which semester you start in. The predominant factor in the fir...
Keep that excitement alive at all costs, it'll get you through the crazy chemistry classes and insane nursing faculty and clinical instructors :) Regarding your first question, every nurse has one thing that sets them off. Whether it be blood, sputu...
Personally I think the best way for you to guarantee yourself a salary in that range is to become an anesthesiologist. You'll see a bigger return on your investment, especially after the DNAP becomes a requirement for entry to practice. As other post...
Although I can understand and appreciate the time and resources put into training a critical care nurse, ultimately I had to be a little selfish and think of my own future. I like to think I paid my dues by working extremely hard and really contribut...
1. I do not claim that this was the best or most politically correct way to handle the situation, but this is what I did. My nursing supervisor found out I was interested in going to CRNA school when he found my paperwork in his mailbox requesting a ...
Most students like to purchase their books used and online for cheaper. It does assure that we all have our books on the first day of class though, I've had some nightmares trying to get used books (we don't have a textbook store in Naples). I person...

I was hired into the ICU from nursing school at a level-1 trauma center. It was a teaching hospital so I learned a lot and was on orientation for 3 months. I was paid a normal GN wage and lived within my means. My ultimate goal was to go to CRNA scho...
The classes will be back to back. Most students use laptops because it's easier to take notes and write papers on than compared to an iPad. The health insurance is pretty weak but we just got an email today saying the coverage has been pumped up due ...
Thank you for the link, I remember someone mentioning that one too but thought it was part of Valley for some reason. I'll definitely order this one too. Thanks again.
I would get a translator in there to assess his orientation and mental status. If he was A+Ox3 GCS 15, I would absolutely call the police. We had a patient corner a nurse and smash her head against the wall while pulling her hair. She had to go to th...
I'm doing both. From the other nurse-anesthesia website, I gathered that Valley is more antiquated but has good information to form a review foundation. I also read that prodigy is a more accurate representation of the boards, with tons of practice e...
I think LIFE should be followed by the disclaimer "results not typical" You're right, nurse anesthesia is probably one of the only professions besides becoming a physician where you can consistently make a six figure salary without having to be extr...
