Our CEO made $1.1 million before bonuses. After bonuses he made $2.36 million. Our contract is coming due. They want to charge the employees, patients, and visitors for parking. (In addition to decreasing staffing, pay, etc.)

Interesting that the nursing staff got all the punishment, while the administrator got to go get another job.

Get a second job, get a roommate. Cut expenses - no cable, dinners out, very basic phone service. Make up a budget and stick to it. Also I second calling the loan company and seeing if they will work with you.

5 - 9 patients on night shift in NY. We have 2-4 PCAs for the 36 bed unit depending on who calls in. No secretary and the PCAs do all the blood work.

THIS is a huge pet peeve of mine!! Room is dirty? Clean it up, don't bother housekeeping. Food came up cold? Don't yell at dietary! Stop what you are doing to heat it up for the patient. Make sure it's not too hot or they'll threaten to sue us ...
