  1. Stop enabling the OP, people. This is a red flag. XNavyCorpsman is correct and OP needs to own his/her mistake and demonstrate accountability. There is no room in nursing for people who can't read the directions, follow rules, and manage their impulses. OP, Make an appointment with your doctor first thing and disclose everything. Respect yourself and others enough to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF before taking care of others.
  2. We are real! We will jump out of the screen and wolf whistle at you. Be afraid!
  3. bwahaha! I love it! We are all predators looking for new flesh!
  4. Tell them to zip it
  5. B'Gok It's not about age. STUDY. Focus. Take your CCRN. Go hang out with the CCU/ICU nurses. You'll be awesome. Don't quit.
  6. May the force be with you
  7. It's just another nurse trying to spread their DNA all over the unit. hehe
  8. Is this a trick question?
  9. Also AAA
  10. ahahaha! Today I'm thankful for: My mom; friends; health; freedom; laughter (especially the kind that comes from my gut and makes me cry or giggle-snort); sarcasm; coffee; and Kerlix
  11. Scanners have never given me troubles, but you're not the only one who hates them. I once saw a nurse get ticked off at one and fling it down the hall. It sort of bounced and slid; and remarkably it didn't break. I was impressed by the durability. The nurse needed some repairs though...
  12. His name is Brian, not Hoyer!”(Hoyer” as suggested by JBudd, MSN, Guide) or Why should we have to put the seatdown? You never leave it up for us!” or I can't believe you just said theQ” word!” or How many times do I have to tell youthat dressing bariatric patients in scrubs does not make them membersof the lift team?”

I am unsure how long it will be... However, If you would like to expedite your visit with the MD, I recommend a gunshot to your thigh in an empty lot; or jumping from the building across the street. But please, throw out your hamburger and soda, and use the bathroom first. Oh, and I'll take the fries. Sorry. I couldn't resist
  14. How do you feel about taking care of people?
  15. What does "prepare to shock if needed" mean to you? When I read that, I visualize a monitor tech holding a defibrillator with the intention of shocking a patient... or me (giggle). Are monitor tech's certified to do direct patient care? :anbd:
  16. It's my understanding that more than 2 billion L. acidophilus swimming in your colon at once makes a bad day unless you're taking antibiotics or trying to light your house on fire. Here's the thing though... you're eating a minimal amount of culture, and you're taking an antimicrobial. The question isn't if you're getting too much probiotic, it's whether you're getting enough. It's really tough to know because kombucha's microbial composition varies depending on the source of inoculum. I guess you're just going to have to listen to your bowels, ha! Do you make the kombucha at home?

Hi Smartypants, Are you going to tell us what happened with this case?
  18. Poop or get off of the potty! I couldn't resist @ ICU Man I have been working in my dream job in the ED. Soon I will need a new dream job and you've got me thinking... Pedi cardiovascular icu sounds pretty awesome to me! Tiny humans are Intense. I love taking care of them.
  19. I have a few questions: Were you inquiring about an accelerated BSN program, or a regular BSN program?
  20. Dogan, BSN, RN "Make friends with everyone." 1) What Dogan said. Integrate. Being friendly, and treating everyone with respect is the most powerful thing you can do. Even if someone isn't being kind toward you, politeness is a virtue. 2) Get a mentor. do a new grad program/RN residency program 3) Journal. Title it with your real name/private. write in it after every shift, be sure to enter the date and time. always add details about significant events, and vent until you're done. don't bring it to work 4) Be a friendly fly on the wall. be the first one to work. listen to the last shift wrap... 5) Be prepared to take what you dish out. making fun of seasoned nurses is generally hostile territory; so get reasonably acquainted, then make fun of them. 6) Laugh at yourself. If you're not sure how, ask a seasoned nurse (coworker) to help you learn to laugh at yourself. don't ask you manager. 7) Never doubt that we want you to succeed
  21. It's a no-brainer, Foker. Take the NI position.
  22. @AJJKRN "Here's a sentence that I personally would like to become taboo..."It's so much easier on night shift because all the patients really do, is sleep". Seriously day shift! Seriously? " Anyone who has worked nights knows that's a load of crap
