To those who have children you can combine a nursing caree with having little ones. It maybe alot of hard work but its achieveable.
  4. How to tell you've worked too many shifts in a row

Its always important to have days off. Working too many shifts can put your practice at risk and also the risk to your patients. As tempting as it is to work that extra 12 hours for a bit more cash - is simply not worth it at times.
  5. What Would You Do If You Had My Life?

It seems my comments have been deemed offensive. I am sorry. I didnt meant to cause offense. I wont mention about me not having children and my career again. I have strong views I didnt realise how others would perceive those views. Sorry. *sighs*
  6. What Would You Do If You Had My Life?

  13. Dangerous nurses

I think is also important to assess the quality of nursing training. I gather some nursing schools are going to be better than others. I will give another example. When I worked on a particular unit there was this newly qualified nurse. She was the ...

  15. Dangerous nurses

My colleagues say I worry too much - but to me its far better to worry than to be careless. I am very particular when it comes to patient care. At times I have left the **** an 30 minutes after everyone else. This is just because I want to make sure ...

  17. To the poster who became pregnant with her FIFTH child during her nurse training, I just think its highly irresponsible and career damaging. If you are constantly pregnant how are you ever going to start your career??
  18. I know people have strong views on this - but what getting an Abortion.
  19. It should be about focussing on career goals - especially if nursing is what one has always wanted to do. I personally think its better to wait and start a family when you have your nursing career behind you - as opposed to having nothing. My advice ...
  20. When I here things like this I despair. If you have always wanted the chance to become a nurse - its a great opportunity. Why oh why spoilt it by becoming pregnant???
