Hello! I also started in dialysis as a new grad. It was my first job offer and i accepted it fearing that i would not get any other offers. I stayed in dialysis for 3 years. I finally got out of dialysis when i got a job in therapeutic apheresis and peripheral blood stem cell collections. This job is in an outpatient clinic and is affiliated with a large community hospital. I also received a job offer in inpatient med/surg oncology. So my advice is to keep applying.

Hi joonsusanna,Congrats on getting a job at CHOA. I had an interview last.week. I will take the prep test next week. Was it difficult? I've been a nurse for two years, so it's been awhile since I took the nclex. I'm studying growth and.development and reading various childhood diseases. Did you find out if you passed the exam right after you finished taking the exam? And did the nurse recruiter offer you the job right afterwards?

In my nursing program, I had a choice of getting the vaccine or sign a waiver. I chose to get the vaccine. I work with blood every day. The number one virus that you can contract from a dirty needlestick is hepatatis B virus. Hep B can live on surfaces for up to one week. I'm glad I am protected against it. I did not have any side effects from the vaccine. Any vaccine (and medication) can have side effects. You have to decide if the benefits outweigh the risks.

ASN '10 here. ASN and BSN grads are equally landing jobs in my area. So I am in no rush to go back to school. I am thinking about completing an online RN to BSN program next year mainly because my company will pay for it and I will be self gratified for accomplishing a BSN. Since I am working now, many employers are looking at my experience instead of which degree I have.

School Debt upon graduation - $0. I went to a community college and earned my associate RN degree. My tuition was about $1100 per semester, all paid for by federal pell grants. The federal govt gave me pell grants that were more than what I needed for tuition, so any money left over after tuition I received a check for the remaining amount. I spent it on books, grocery, gas. I bought previous used book editions from half.com. My husband, daughter, and I lived with my parents. So I didn't have to pay for a lot of expenses such as rent. I did, however, ran out of money during my last semester and had to put my expenses on my credit card. My credit card was $2000. I graduated in May and started working in September. I will pay off my credit card debt this month and I'll be debt-free!

I drive 27 miles one way, 30 minutes without traffic, 50 minutes to one hour with traffic. I work 10 hour shifts.

I graduated in May 2010, licensed in July, found full-time job in September. This is not my first choice of jobs nor is it in a hospital. I'm working in a dialysis clinic. I literally applied to 100 job positions in hospitals, doctor offices, clinics. I feel fortunate to have a job, especially with the tight economy you gotta take what you can get. Some of my classmates found jobs, some are still looking.

I received an email stating that Piedmont will not offer me the position in the CV program. However, I accepted a position at an outpatient clinic within Emory Healthcare. I start next week. I graduated in May. It took 4 months, 5 interviews for me to land a job. Don't get discouraged. Apply everywhere. Don't just limit your search to only hospitals. Something will come up. Good luck.

Has anyone received a job offer for the CV residency program? I interviewed on Sept. 2nd but I haven't heard anything back yet.

When I was in the program (Spring 2009 - Spring 2010) this was my clinical rotation schedules: Fundamentals- 7am-3pm, Thurs & Fri Med/surg 1 - 7am-3pm, thurs & fri OB - 7am-7pm, thurs peds- 1pm-9pm, thurs & fri pysch - 1pm-9pm, weds & thurs med/surg 2 - 80 hrs with a preceptor (to be scheduled with preceptor's schedule), 80 hrs with instructor usually 7am-7pm once a week. clinicals can be at Gwinnett Medical, Dekalb Medical, Wesley Woods, Rockdale Medial, Children's Healthcare. I can't think of anymore right now simulation lab 8 hours for every class except med/surg 2 - 16 hrs. community activity 1 day each for peds and med/surg 2. that is when you go into the community (high school, senior citizen center, college campus) and teach about various health issues (diabetes, hypertension, cancer, etc)

No nursing classes are offered at the dunwoody campus. All nursing classes are at the clarkston campus. The only times you will be on the Dunwoody campus are for simulation labs. Each nursing class requires 1-2 days of simulation lab.

I called and asked the board. They said it usually takes 7-10 business days. Depending on how busy they are, it can take longer. If your application status is complete except for "Passing results for NCLEX" says "pending," just sit tight and be patient. They will get to you eventually. I took nclex on July 1st and my license was issued on July 13th.

I received my acceptance letter in Mid-August 2008 for the Spring 2009 semester.

I did the PVT and got the good pop up. Got my quick results and I passed.

With my first paycheck I am going to buy one-hour full body massages for my fiancé and myself. Then I will buy wedding bands, a luxury car, new pair of boobs, and new clothes and shoes.

I would also pick B. Spends most of the day in his room might be an indication of depression. The nurse must talk to him to find out how he is feeling. The other answers sound normal to me.

I am getting my ASN at a public CC. The nursing program is 4 semesters. One semester is about $1400. I get federal pell grant every semester. The grants are more than the cost of the tuition, so I get to keep whatever is left over. I do not have to pay the grants back. They are given to me because I am a low-income student with a family (one daughter) and have good grades. My pell grants are usually $2500-$2900 each semester. So far I do not have a debt. I am so thankful for these grants.
