I think I made a mistake
rehab over med surge? Thats a no brainer, I say unless you are a new grad getting needed experience, always avoid med surg. The stress and work load is way too much and you get paid the same thing as nurses in much less stressful areas.

My pt accused my coworker of taking her Percocets! (long)

Nursing is not what I thought...hate my job...need ur opinion
hospital nursing sucks, you are over worked like crazy and all your managers care about is if you r getting high customer service ratings and steadily trying to increase the nurse patient ratios and cuting your cna's any chance they get. I have been a nurse for many years and we all run around like chickens with our heads cut off b/c the work load is just too much.

Speaking of sitting and charting
i don't think its petty at all, as with every aspect of nursing it is the floor nurse who works the hardest and gets the least respect and consideration.

Planetree affiliated hospital = MORE BURNOUT (LONG)
i think it is so sad that management makes all these promises to patients and family members at the nurses expense. No one ever talks about lower nurse patient ratios.

in need of advice after getting fired
since u only worked a year there, i would go into the next job acting like a new nurse with no experience. Dont list that job as a reference if they ask what u have been doing for the last year, say u were at home taking care of your new baby. Its worth a shot

Do most jobs send a rejection letter after interview or just ignore you if you
i had a similar experience, i hit it off with the charge nurse interviewing me, she called HR in my presence and told them to have me come in and fill out needed paper work so that i could start the job, about 2 weeks went by and i heard nothing back, i called the nurse recruiter, she basically said they were still interviewing but the job had been removed from their website. So what i did was get the email from the card the interviewer gave me, i reminded her who i was and i pasted a copy of my resume' b/c i felt like it was the nurse recruiter who let things fall through the cracks. About a week later, i got a call from the recruiter offering me the position, which i took. Try contacting the floor leadership

my first job interview experience and shocking work environment
i think this is unsafe especially for a new grad, if this is only offer especially in this job market, take it and keep applying elsewhere when u get another offer, run don't walk

For those of use New Grads not getting jobs, what do you suggest?

i dont know what to do, please help.
mind your own business, u did not witness any of this, it is mere hear say. As for your friends who told u about it, if they have first hand knowledge, they are obligated to report it. It sounds like mere gossip to me and i would hope affecting someone's livelihood with out definite proof is something u would not do
-
how do you keep your sexy??
great question, interested to see comments

Falling into severe depression ...(vent)
nsg school will be tough but u must give it a try, can u imagine 20 yrs. from now if u did not try and u spent the rest of your life wondering what if. What may happen with your mom and dad has not happened so stop dwelling on that and focus your energy on school. If those things do happen u can deal with them then.
