Having a baby summer before last semester??
I have the same baby itch. I'm starting a one year accelerated program in Sept and my husband and I are thinking of trying next year so that the baby would be born a month or two after pinning (Oct). But someone made a point about swollen ankles etc. Though I would pray for a safe pregnancy, I know the body will do what it wants. I'm just going to leave it to God. Whatever happens will. I just pray it will be at a "good" time.

I need tips on how to create outlines & create an organization system
I will be starting my ABSN program this Sept and considering my prior bachelor's degree was in criminal justice, going into nursing is a whole new ball game. For those of you already in nursing school can you offer tips on how to create successful outlines for classes. Also what is a good system on how to manage time wisely and how to stay organized and not drown in paper work. Any advice at all is appreciated!

What made you decide to go for ASN or BSN?
I am in a situation where I was accepted into both an ABSN and an ADN program. The ABSN is 1 year and the ADN so I thought would have been 2 years. After taking a closer look I realized that the ADN would actually be less than 2 years for me because I have all the pre-reqs. However, by the time I realized this I had already declined my seat at the school and now I wish I could change it. Just wondering if anyone of you were also in the same boat and decided to go with the ADN first versus the ABSN and why.

Nursing school and my biological clock...pls reply if you can
Thanks for all of your comments ladies. Baby fever is no joke, but despite it being in the air and around me, I know this opportunity to go to school this fall fell into my lap for a reason. I just want to get my program started, finished and successfully pass and then move on the family stage of my life God-willing when it's right. Good luck to you ladies as well that will be starting a program this year or next year and also to the moms who are getting their pre-reqs in order to go to nursing school. We all are destined to be great future nurses & mommies!

5 EKG strips on my NCLEX-RN oh my
I've read many times about the "good pop up" which I pray when I finish NS and take the NCLEX I get. Just wondering what is the bad pop up? Does one exist? Not that I care too much but I'm just curious, all while staying positive for the good pop up one day.

Nursing school and my biological clock...pls reply if you can
Thank you both for your replies. It's true my circumstances can change at anytime and whatever I may think I have planned, God will have another plan. I know the best thing to do is to wait until I'm nearly done with school or finished period to start trying for a family. It's so hard especially seeing family and friends starting their families. One friend said to me when she was trying to conceive "nursing school doesn't have a biological clock, women do." Meaning she could always go back to nursing school whenever she wanted to. My best friend just told me last night that she's pregnant. Total shocker and came out of nowhere and course it made me feel happy yes, but also made me have the baby itch even more. I just pray my ABSN flies by and I successfully pass my exams and boards and then I can begin trying for my family next year.

Pregnancy: Before or After Nursing School
I'm in the same boat currently debating about having a baby during my last semester of nursing school when I start the program.

Nursing school and my biological clock...pls reply if you can
Hi everyone. I was accepted into an ABSN program which I am suppose to begin this fall. It's a one year program. When I start the program I will be 31 years old and when I finish I will be 32. I guess my main concern is after I pass the NCLEX and land a great job, how much time into that job will I have to wait before getting pregnant? I know like most jobs there will be a probation period, but I just don't want to wait too long to begin trying to conceive after I finish nursing school, considering I would like to have three kids. My husband and I were going to start trying to conceive this year for our first child, however when I found out I was accepted into nursing school, we both agreed that I should go forward with school and we'll begin our family once I'm done. Any advice from someone that has been in this boat before or probably thinking about a situation like this too? Appreciate it.

Was the struggle worth it to get where you are today as an RN?
I know so many of you on here had various struggles to get where you are now whether it was just the first steps of getting into nursing school (fighting through denial letters and finally getting one that said accepted); sacrificing everything under the sun (family, jobs, life); staying in the program (wondering if you are cut out for this work); and then finally graduating, passing the NCLEX, becoming an RN and landing your first job. I just want to know if after all the blood, sweat and tears, are you happy where you are today as a nurse (if you are unhappy too please be honest and tell us why). Would you do it all over again? Share your story and encouragement with us!

An RN Returning to Say HI and To Inspire
Paco thanks for coming back to inspire us and cheer us on. I will be starting my accelerated program next fall. I'm nervous, happy, scared everything all in one but I can't wait until I graduate, pass my boards and can come back and say "I'm an RN!"

It's good to know I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Spring 2013 Nursing Students!!!! Who's In????
I'm in! I am attending Drexel's ACE program in 2013. I'm excited about finally being accepted into a school. I'm blessed and thankful that God has opened this door for me. I am scared of the unknown and the intensity of the work. But I am going to give it a shot and try my best!

My Guide To Making The Grade And Maintaining Your Sanity
Wow thank you! This was so helpful especially to someone like myself who is accepted into nursing school and truly doesn't know what to expect. It helps to know there are people like you who take time out to come back and give advice to pre-nursing students like myself and others. God bless you!
