  1. I passed! I hope my story inspires and motivates you!

    Congrats! What a major accomplishment!
  2. Missed you all, took NCLEX, good pop-up!

Thank you Loops! Good luck on your studies and your NCLEX!
  3. Does RN-BSN programs have more "old" people???

If I were your age, I would also enter a BSN program directly. For me, personally, I chose to go the ADN route for a few reasons. 1. While I was working full-time, I was able to go for my pre-reqs 1-2 classes at a time, and be able to pay direct...
  4. Ever lost a job offer because of your reference?

A long time ago, before nursing even entered my mind, I had listed a past manager as a reference. There was nothing wrong with our relationship either during work or when I left. I worked my behind off for him, even on the weekends, gave him 3 week...
  5. Do you think about...

I think about it all the time but not just at the hospital! EVERYWHERE! I think about it every time I use a public restroom and see people come out of a stall, with a toilet freshly flushed, and leave without them washing their hands. I think about...
  6. Discouraged

You can do this! You've gone this far! There is no way that you are going to let a little test beat you now! Good luck!!!
  7. I am so glad I never half to see most of you again after the pinning ceremony next week! I am so glad I don't have to deal with you chatting with each other over the instructor who is in the middle of lecture! And then tell other people to shut up w...
  8. I am DONE :)

Congrats to you!!! It's been a long, hard fought road! I am finally finished too! My final grades just posted and I am officially a graduate nurse! Hasn't hit me yet either!
  9. Having a hard time opening up my book...

How did everyone do? Did we all make it? My final grade won't be posted until tomorrow because my teacher still hasn't graded the paper I handed in over 5 weeks ago. UGH! Once she does that, I just might be able to say I am a graduate nurse! LOL
  10. Things you would LOVE to say to your nursing instructors...

Please post my final grade on the paper I handed in over 5 weeks ago! You said that you would have it back to me early this week, tomorrow is Friday and still no grade! I would finally like to call myself a graduate nurse...get it DONE!
  11. ATI Bare Naked! What do you want to know?

I don't like the ATI either. Some of the questions are poorly written and the practice tests don't give a good rationale as to why a person got a question wrong. BTW, I also have A's in my classes and usually tend to get level 3's on my ATI...hope ...
  12. I have lived with anxiety my entire life. In fact, I didn't know any different until I became an adult and talked with friends about it, who told me it's not normal to feel the way I do. When I started having panic attacks that landed me in the ER,...
  13. dealing with an unprofessional clinical instructor

Ah...the Clinical Instructors from H-E-Double hockey sticks. Yes, I know them well! With only 2 weeks left in this semester just do what you are doing, show up, smile, answer questions, stay out of the way the best you can! I feel really sad for p...
  14. Five more weeks left in last semester....

Good luck on your final exam, although it doesn't sound like you need it! LOL
  15. I think it's great that you can reflect on this objectively and realize that you need help in a particular area! Kudos to you for that! I think getting a job as a CNA while you are waiting re-entry would be a great thing to do. They are usually ver...
  16. Having a hard time opening up my book...

NurseLoveJoy - I am in the same boat! I am downstairs cleaning for my graduation party when I should be hitting the books! My final is also on Thursday and my exit exam is Wednesday night but I would rather scrub my toilets and vacuum my carpets in...
  17. New and not so new nurses..

I had this same thing happen to me by a PT. It was no big deal and wouldn't have harmed a patient but she made it a big deal by blowing up on me in front of the family. It made it pretty hard to establish the correct relationship with my patient be...
  18. Our classes are broken into 6 weeks increments. Our first Med-Surg was a basic overview of the systems/diagnostic tests/etc. Our last two Med-Surg classes broke everything into systems. We went through half the systems in Advanced Med-Surg I and t...
  19. I second this! Our first 6 weeks are advanced, advanced Med-Surg, our last 6 weeks are leadership/transitions. Clinical has been more challenging, we are pushed to take a full load of patients and we are pushed to do everything on those patients (j...
  20. Five more weeks left in last semester....

:monkeydance::clpty::dncgbby::dancgrp: Done! The scrubs are burned! The celebratory alcoholic beverages drunk! Nothing left to do now except go to bed tonight and sleep in tomorrow morning! LOL!!!
  21. Five more weeks left in last semester....

Last day of clinicals EVER, today! I am almost there and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel....finally! Last day of lecture is Thursday and then I take my final test in nursing school the following Thursday. Time stills feels like i...
  22. Confused!

I have been studying out of Saunders for a while now. I just took a Kaplan free test online and the questions are MUCH MUCH harder than Saunders and my nursing program. Is this just a gimmick to sign up for Kaplan? Our school has 98% passing rate ...
  23. Confused!

Thanks Glenna! I was able to get ahold of a Kaplan review test online for the NCLEX and the questions didn't seem that much different to me than the Saunders. Phew! I put myself into panic mode yesterday!!! LOL
  24. Confused!

Nope. Nevermind! Sometimes I can be so dumb! I took a USMLE test instead of a nursing test. No wonder it was so hard. DUH!
  25. Why is it that you are getting all of the credit for planning the pinning ceremony? I have: Reserved the space where we are having it, including all of the negotiating it took; coordinated all of the decorations; coordinated ALL of the fund raising -...
