Just an observation here. Many applicants who are offered a spot in more than one program respond to each program in the affirmative. Whether they are trying to make up their minds, or waiting on a better offer, they tie up spots in each program wh...
Everything I've told you guys can be found on their website, by calling the school, and going to meetings. That, and having over 20 years of experience. I have other connections to the school.

talk to mary jane in the office. from what i hear, she is extremely organized and will go through your package any time you call her. i believe she is also the one who schedules the interviews, so she should be a good point of contact.

By definition, a DNP is a CLINICAL doctorate, just as an MD and DO are clinical doctorates. On the other hand, PhDs tend to be RESEARCH doctorates and are actually the "original" doctorates. If anyone has a right to be offended at the hijacking of a ...
Interesting. A PhD who teaches chemistry at TCC also teaches the chemistry course for TCU's anesthesia program. Could be quite helpful, I'd think. Just a CRNA

This question about short cuts in experience followed by entrance into an anesthesia program seems to be a recurring subject here. As Fence has stated, the AANA Council on Accreditation requires that all applicants have a minimum of one year of crit...
TCU does not require any additional chemistry beyond what was taken as an undergrad nursing student. Their chemistry for nurse anesthesia students is tailored for anesthesia application.
TCU does not use a point system. The application package is viewed with regards to strengths and weakneses. Strength in one area, such as the interview, can offset weaknesses in others.

If the anesthesia school grants an MSN as their degree, you must have a BSN. If they grant a Masters in Health Science or another degree title, many will require an RN with a Bachelors in a clinical science. If you have a BA and are considering a r...
It was announced at the Assembly of School Faculty last week that the Council on Certification will be making some small changes to the certifying exam, starting in April 2007. First of all, the minimum number of questions will increase from 90 to 1...
Most any hearing aid store can fit you for an earpiece. The tubing and chestpieces themselves can be purchased through any anesthesia supplier such as SunMed or AA. The formal name is Wenger Chestpiece, if that helps.
I had the opportunity to sit in on a few interviews this year with TCU. I am certain that all the interview panels were made up of 2 or 3 members at the most. None had 4. I also see in another thread where you are IN the program at FIU. If so, wh...
This is great advice, if you'd like to be dismissed from a program. Many require that you advise them if/how much you work, and by lying to them you are open to disclipinary action. Your chance for success in school goes up astronomically if you ar...
I posted this last year and got some thoughtful responses, and one or two not so thoughtful. Nonetheless, it is still appropriate as the new wave of interviews is in full swing: Many of you have spent much bandwidth talking about the suspense of wai...
