Prof Nrsg A&B and Technical Writing Starting 6/30

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

These will be my first classes at UTA and of course I'm starting to freak out. I've read through many posts that say these courses are easy and others that say they are difficult. It's been so long since I've written and been in school that I am just so scared. Should I only take Prof A&B to start out? Any advice, tips or encouragement is very much appreciated...

I'm in the same boat!! Start Monday and wanting to take gen ed classes in August but I don't know about the workload for professional nursing...

We can use this thread as a support system if need be. I'm going to try to take the orientation quiz today if I can, and try to get most of the week 1 work done tomorrow since I brilliantly decided to start school the week of 4th of July :)

Hi guys. I am in California and am too taking professional nursing starting Monday. Ive taken Technical Writing and its not so bad at all, the best advice I can give you is to follow the grading rubric and you'll be fine. They also offer examples of each assignment so that's helpful too.

Thank you for the info! My problem is that I always feel the need to have to do every reading and video suggested and it is just so tedious and time consuming. I'm on the last APA module right now and after taking the orientation quiz I wish I wouldn't have wasted so much time looking through the RN-BSN Orientation module first. Hopefully after the first week or so I'll have an idea of what is needed and expected of me. For technical writing did you read all of the assigned chapters or more so just skim them? Thank you again and good luck as we start tomorrow! :)

Well I must say that I think I could've wasted less time finding articles- I don't know why this was such a pain, but I seemed to have lots of problems with EBSCO loading, but the librarians are so helpful so far.

I'm also having a problem with putting a reference in the text box of the assignment, I can't seem to indent the second line without making the textbox distort. Anyone else? I'm waiting for the coaches response too....

Specializes in RN pacu/med surg.

I'm starting tech writing today..our first assignment is a 750 word memo..n I'm freaking out..I haven't written a paper in a looking time .. Ugh how was tech writing for U?

Mesa14,

I read some of your posts on UTA, I am considering this school to go for my BSN, "RN -BSN".

If you don't mind I have a few questions: Have you finished, did you already have an AA with your RN, how was it for you?

There is another school I'm considering, it's the West Coast University RN-BSN online program. But I need more information.

Thank you for any information.

Ann
