Easiest and Toughest Classes In UT Arlington RN-BSN Program
I am taking Prof Nrsg and Technical Writing right now, have a 3 year old and work part time. I find it time consuming and I feel guilty for the time it takes away from my son. I think technical writing is more difficult, maybe because its tedious and I enjoy creative writing. I really want A's and therefore put a lot of time into it, but my ultimate priority remains my family. I would say just start with those 2 classes.

UTA RN to BSN Online Fall 2014
I just started Prof Nursing and Technical Writing 6/30, but I'd still like to consider myself part of the Fall 2014 group :) I can't seem to locate the facebook page though...

Prof Nrsg A&B and Technical Writing Starting 6/30
Well I must say that I think I could've wasted less time finding articles- I don't know why this was such a pain, but I seemed to have lots of problems with EBSCO loading, but the librarians are so helpful so far. I'm also having a problem with putting a reference in the text box of the assignment, I can't seem to indent the second line without making the textbox distort. Anyone else? I'm waiting for the coaches response too....

Prof Nrsg A&B and Technical Writing Starting 6/30
Thank you for the info! My problem is that I always feel the need to have to do every reading and video suggested and it is just so tedious and time consuming. I'm on the last APA module right now and after taking the orientation quiz I wish I wouldn't have wasted so much time looking through the RN-BSN Orientation module first. Hopefully after the first week or so I'll have an idea of what is needed and expected of me. For technical writing did you read all of the assigned chapters or more so just skim them? Thank you again and good luck as we start tomorrow! :)

Prof Nrsg A&B and Technical Writing Starting 6/30
We can use this thread as a support system if need be. I'm going to try to take the orientation quiz today if I can, and try to get most of the week 1 work done tomorrow since I brilliantly decided to start school the week of 4th of July :)

Prof Nrsg A&B and Technical Writing Starting 6/30
These will be my first classes at UTA and of course I'm starting to freak out. I've read through many posts that say these courses are easy and others that say they are difficult. It's been so long since I've written and been in school that I am just so scared. Should I only take Prof A&B to start out? Any advice, tips or encouragement is very much appreciated...

UTA online RN to BSN
I'm also starting both of those courses June 30th. I've always loved being a student, but this will be my first time being a mom as well as a student and that makes me nervous...

Obtaining PHN certification with BSN from UTA
I live in CA. I'm going to get my BSN with UTA and apply for the PHN and if the CA BRN denies it, then I will have to take a semester at a University in CA to obtain the PHN most likely.

Get ahead in nursing courses?
I'm starting April 7th with Technical Writing and Professional Nursing as well. I've been trying to plan ahead and map out which class I will take next, but I can't seem to find which classes will be offered on the June 30th start date. Have you found the course schedule for the summer?

Starting UTA's RN-BSN Online Program April 7th
I obtain all of the medical records on the foster children I track and advocate for, but not direct patient care. I'm guessing that wouldn't work? I'll have to figure that one out.... Thank you for the information, I appreciate it.

Starting UTA's RN-BSN Online Program April 7th
Hi Everyone, On top of the Nursing classes I need History 1312, Math 1302(College Algebra), Literature, ENGL 2338(Technical writing) and Texas government, as well as 2 upper division electives. I did take Medical terminology at a community college, but apparently I have to take another for the upper division elective? Based on what I've read I think I will take college algebra at a Community College. Any advice on the other courses mentioned above would be much appreciated. Such as which Literature course would you recommend? And NURS-EL 3300 Cooperative Nursing Work Experience I, NURS 4300 Cooperative Nursing Work Experience II, or NURS 3352 Legacy of the Family? As for the nursing courses I'm trying to map out which ones to take and in which order, as well as which ones could be doubled up on. From what I've read I know that Nursing Research should be taken alone, as well as Vulnerable Populations. Holistic Health Assessment I've read to be easy but time consuming. Apparently Health Promotion, Holistic Care of Older Adult, Professional Nursing, and Nursing Leadership are not as difficult courses based on what I've read on here. Also, with the assessment class I am curious about the "patient" you write about. I work as a foster care nurse and my job involves tracking all of their medical/dental information, advocating, coordination of appointments, etc; but no direct patient contact. I am the mom of a toddler and work part-time, so I know this is a lot to ask, but any information will hopefully help me to be at ease, or at least help me to plan for what is ahead... Thank you!

Obtaining PHN certification with BSN from UTA
Sorry I am just now replying, thank you for the offer :)

Obtaining PHN certification with BSN from UTA
I had emailed UTA asking if their RN to BSN had a public health component and they replied that it did not. That being said, the instructions on the CSUDH website say to apply to the CA board of registered nursing and submit my transcripts and they will decide whether I meet the public health certificate requirements or not. If I don't, then I can take the needed extra classes at CSUDH and reapply for the certification. I was just hoping to hear feedback from someone who has graduated from UTA with a BSN and then got their PHN in CA.

Obtaining PHN certification with BSN from UTA
I am currently an RN working as a Foster Care Nurse, which requires that I have my BSN and PHN certification. I had been under the impression that completion of my BSN would qualify me to apply for the PHN component with California's BRN, but this isn't always the case I've come to find out. I like everything I have read about UTA's online RN-BSN program and have already applied for the Spring 2014, but completion of this BSN program does not come with the public health nurse element. I did just find information through CSU Dominguez Hills that I can complete courses after I receive my BSN to complete the PHN certification process before applying to the CA BRN. Has anyone done this or gone through another school to do so? Any information is much appreciated.

Need Public Health Nursing Certification
I know this posting is a couple years old, but were you able to obtain your PHN certificate in California? I am looking into getting my BSN through UTA, but I will still need my PHN in California for my job requirements. I am hoping that I can complete the PHN part separate from my BSN. Thank you.
