PRN CNA the worst?

Published

Hi cna's I always come to this page to share since I got certified. So so happy at that time. Well I do really like what I do. The problem is how I do the things I believe .

recently I got a job it's only PRN in a LTC /rehab facility . They only give me certain days to work in a week , 2nd shift. It's frustrating because I'm brand new with no CNA experience . im recently had 4 days orientation . Then I was by my own with 10 to 12 patients . On the rehab floor or the LTC floor. The ppl on the rehab are alert and they tell me what they need. Some of them are confused, but still stand and do things on their own. The problem is upstairs in the nursing home . The others CNA s expect that I know what to do with the residents , what time they go to bed and who goes to somewhere and who doesn't . IM per diem I do not have a everyday routine with this people. I have to be asking them what to do with each of them . When the nurse give me my assigment ; I ask what to do and when . She say don't worry we help .

But when I go to check my residents wich are never the same . They aren't in they room I don't know even how they look like. Don't see who they are . They don't use any brassalet o ID . I regret working Per Diem . I am lost every time I go to work . They give 2 days a week and alternate weekends .im floating up and down in two different units. If any of you have had any experience like me pls tell me what to do. I'm having one day tomorrow a.m shift 7-3 wich I never work . I only had work evening . So I don't know I do not like it. It's too much . I rather will like full time . With my own group of pts . But they aren't hiring full time . I'm desperate struggling everyday single day of my life . I have only one month working and everyday it's a case. Pls helppppp. Sorry I made this too long
