Good argument for why private health care does it best. :yeah:

I think this is horrible! But your watching this with belief or "Faith" that the other option is better. Instead of scrapping what we have shouldn't we fix it so the school teacher with Leukemia can not be dropped by her insurance company?

Truth is under Universal healthcare she will have coverage but could die on a waiting list with many others who would not have gotten dropped. This is not Japan or Switz. they don't have 10s of millions of obese people with metabolic syndrome bogging down the system.

There are many more problems than just getting dropped or insurance companies denying coverage due to pre existing conditions. Under your plan are the payments going to be affordable? I pay $1000 a mth for health insurance for me, age 51 and my 13 and 15 yo. I'm on a sinking ship financially--I've paid almost $64,000 in premiums, deductables, and copays in the last 4 yrs 9 mths to a FOR PROFIT company.

Sickening!

If I was you I would have went to the low cost clinics to help with the bills. I have been to both and with an appointment its around an hour wait. Because it's Govt run the receptionist are not friendly, they herd you through like a cow and if it can't be treated with a pill then your basically in trouble because anything more is another matter. But I did it a few times just to save money. If you without an appointment you have to show up an hour before they open and get in line with the other walk in sick 7am or so. You may get in by noon.

Can a low cost clinic do a heart bypass? Can they give you chemotherapy? Will they do knee surgery? Will they treat me for my MI and all the after care? Did you know you have a 50% higher mortality rate if you are in a level one car accident and don't have insurance?

I can afford my meds and occ office visits. I pay for them already myself and don't bill the insurance. What I need insurance for is the big stuff: if I get breast CA and need chemo., or a heart bypass. Do you realize women die every day of breast CA in the USA because they can't afford chemo?

Insurance should not have to pay for the small stuff--it is meant for catastrophic illness and injuries.

My grandmother died at age 40 of an MI. My mom had a massive MI, triple bypass at age 53 (I'm 51). So I'm trying to be responsible and pay for health insurance and but $1000 a mth to a FOR PROFIT company????
