I am a LPN (wound care certified) in Illinois who opened up my own private duty nursing company. I really don't have employees, just myself. I have referrals for patients but am having to turn them down because I am not able to accept Medicare, Medicaid, or Insurance. I got my NPI number, formed my own corporation, and am willing to do the dirty work. Are there any tips out there to help me with this process?

Do you have RN to sign off on the plan of care? In my state if no RN, the case is not authorized for PDN. Many in your situation subcontract an RN for clinical oversight, admission/discharge assessments & signing the plan of care.

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.
