Priority Questions___nclex Rn

Published

Hey everyone---

Any tips on how to handle those priority questions? I know ABCs, Maslow and Nursing process don't always work!!! Any tips would be awesome!! Thanks. jp:p

I pretty much used ABC, Maslow and nursing process when I was studying, but when I was taking the actual NCLEX, all of my strategy skills vanished! So basically I was just looking at the priority questions, trying to eliminate anyone who wasn't really, really going to die soon :chuckle (cruel I know) and then usually narrowing it down to two, I just had to pick the one I thought was in worse condition (while keeping ABCs and stuff in mind) The priority are TOUGH, but just try to use good judgement and anything you've learned about the disease processes, etc. Good luck!

Okay---so as far as disaster situations---do you see the person that is most "fixable" first and leave the most likely to die or worst injured for last? That is what I have heard. let me know what you think. jp
