Hello all,
Has anyone had experience going to Navy ODS as a prior service member? I'm asking specifically because I want to know if it's okay to bring uniform items that you already own to ODS instead of re-purchasing them there? I'm talking about items such as the seabag, sweats, etc.
I know that on the ODS website, it states "For prior service military, if you already own uniforms on the attached list, you will need to bring them." But I know that in the military, what is said and what is true doesn't always match up :)
thanks in advance!

I can not tell you an answer about uniforms but you will be surprised on how you are treated. You will not be getting yelled at for things you used to when you were enlisted.

I went with a group of fellow Mustangs. Many of the uniform items had changed so I ended up pretty much repurchasing a new seabag. I had already bought chokers for my pinning ceremony but the people who made out were the Chiefs. They already had most of the stuff already. They will check any uniform items you bring to make sure they are in good condition and that they fit you.
Thank you SnakeEyes!
