did anyone attend the open house this month for new grads ? did you get hired?

i was called for a second interview last week and now waiting for the outcome.

..i hope i get hired i need to work!!

I did attend and interviewed with the manager of the L&D unit. I am returning on the 5th to shadow a nurse for the day so hopefully thats a step in the right direction...fingers crossed!

oh mehn now im sad no one sd anything about shadowing , did they tell you this while you were there for the second interview?

I didn't do a second interview. I was told this at the open house. After shadowing Im hoping for a second interview. I didn't know NICU was hiring new grads, I would have interviewed with them as well.

yea the manager sd she had six ppl she interviewed and only two positions

I had 2 interviews but I have not heard anything from them as yet. Has any new grad been recently hired at PG?

My friend is a new grad (ADN, no healthcare exp) and she started this week. I myself graduated with her and have a applied for several posted new grad positions online (ED and NICU) and was rejected w/in 48h w/ no follow-up or phone call or anything. I even have a 3.81 gpa and scored in the 99th percentile on my HESI! She was hired through an open house in Dec. So I would say that anyone has a much better shot at an open house vs. applying online. The only other thing that I could think of is that it is possible that they filled the posted positions with internal hires and just had to formally post the positions to fill some requirement.
