Hi,im not a burn nurse yet but im in school right now but i feel that they don't get the recognition that they deserve. Im a burn survivor have been since 2000, if it weren't for the nurses and my docs at the augusta burn center i don't know where i would be. they are part of the reason that i want to be a nurse and eventually work with burn patients........love you guys and for the rest of the burn nurses, i take my hat off to you guys and keep saving lives.... But is it hard to be a burn nurse since that's the field that i want to go into after school....

Burn nursing is a very demanding field, but I worked with a nurse who was also a burn survivor, she was amazing and had a special connection with her patients that only someone who has gone through what those patients are going through can have. Go for your goal! It will be hard, but it will be worth it! Don't give up when the schooling or those first years get tough, there will be times you will second guess your choice of careers, but believe me the benefits and the good you will do to help so many outweigh all the struggles to get there!
