prerequisites for nursing

Prerequisite for nursing school is confusing when you plan on applying for nursing school at more than college. Recently, I looked at nursing program at a few different colleges and requirements are different. One college's prerequisites doesn't require a nutrition class but requires college algebra. My last college's prerequisites requirements is nutrition and a critical thinking math. Assuming that taking a harder classes is best. At my college that I transfer from in spring wouldn't allow me to take Anatomy 2121 with nutrition or take Anatomy 2112 with microbiology so by the time I took one class a semester, I'd spend another 2 years finishing prerequisite classes. hoping new college allows these classes to be taken together. Yes, I know above classes are extremely hard but must get classes finished and get into the fun stuff, nursing. Has anyone else had this same problem at their college/university?

    You prioritize, based on your first choice, etc. Follow the prereq schedule for the program you want to be admitted to first. After that, meet any different requirements in the order that you plan to apply to other programs, should your first choice not offer you a seat. Make yourself a spreadsheet for all of the programs that you are contemplating, and it will look a lot easier to deal with.

    Choose the classes that best fit the program that you most want to get into. For the most part, they're pretty much the same across the board:

    -Anatomy and Physiology for 2 semesters (or 1 semester anatomy and 1 physiology)

    -micro

    -a math class (my school requires college algebra or if you have already taken it or placed out you have to take probability & statistics)

    -2 semesters of English

    -general psychology, some schools will require another psych - for me it was lifespan/developmental.

    A lot of schools don't require nutrition as a prereq, but it is required for graduation.

    If you don't have a top choice or don't think your chances look good with your top choice, talk to your backup school's nursing admissions offices and see if the classes you're taking for your top choice will fit the bill for the other schools as well. As the poster above me said, prioritize! Get the universal prereqs done and ace them, and then take what's left or save them for summer sessions while you wait for acceptance letters
