I haven't taken any lab classes in a while but I always thought they were separate classes. Usually the lecture is 3 credits while the lab is 1 credit. You shouldn't need to retake the lab but I'd retake the lecture class.
Again, if you are really hell bent against retaking, you could ask the prospective schools.
Your school does things in a unique manner, usually lab make up a portion of your lecture grade even though they are two seperate classes. However i would not believe that a strait average of lab and lecture would not happen in this case. What i see happening is your grade being weighted which doesn't help much at all (C- •3hrs + A • 1hrs)/4= grade for micro ( assume 1 for c and 4 for a to get 7/4 which leaves you with a c+),however you may have the option to take just the lecture portion again. Oh course depending on your school and the nursing school you apply to they may average your two over all course grades so be sure to get that A+ to average out to a solid B.
I'm a Mom headed back to school. Wow, I'm behind. I have recieved A's and B's on most of my pre-req's, but the problem is I decided to take Enlgish on-line. Didn't do well recieved a C. Should I re-take this class. I'm really worried. Since at my age I don't have a lot of time for error. I thought on-line would be easier when in fact it was difficult. I still have my daugher in school so on-line seemed to be the way to go. This was honestly harder.
Will they look at that C as a strike against me. Let's say I take it again and recieve an A will they drop the C or will that C drag in my grades forever. Thank you for any help. I appreciate any feedback. :heartbeat

Hi!
I took microbiology lecture and microbiology lab separately. I got a C- in the lecture portion but an A in the lab portion. When applying to nursing programs that list "microbiology" as a prereq, are they considering the grades separately or an average of the two?
I am afraid that they will say that I have not passed microbiology since I got a C-.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
