:nurse: hi future & current nurses!

i have a few questions, hope you don't mind. :)

i am currently working on my prereqs, 12th grade biology & math. i am wondering if i should be applying to nursing school now, or wait until i get my final scores? i don't know how long it'll take me to finish my required courses, but gee being out of hs for 14 years makes it a little more challenging doesn't it? but i'm more serious about life now then a few years ago. having a family really wakes you up. besides, i've always wanted to be a professional nurse since i was old enough to talk.

last couple of questions. :D what is the first couple weeks of nursing school like? are there tests every week? do you actually have enough time in a day to absorb all that information?

thank you all kindly, :bowingpur

Hi and welcome to AllNurses.com! :)

Many schools have pre-reqs that have to be finished BEFORE you can apply, not while you are taking them.

You would need to contact your school's nursing advisor and ask them their requirements.

Good luck!! :)

At our school, you can apply before you even start your pre-reqs if you want. Once you are done with your pre-reqs, they place you on the waiting list in order of when you applied. First applied, first served. People even apply before they finish High School in order to get in sooner. Check with your school as to what their regulations are.

As far as nursing school goes, check out my thread entitiled "I'm loving nursing school" for an idea. Yes, you can absorb the info, however it's not easy.
