Prereqs - Lifespan Psych and Nutrition

Published

Hi everyone,

I have 4 classes left to take this fall for the direct MSN programs I'm applying to this upcoming cycle. I have A&P II, Microbio, Psych (Lifespan), and Nutrition left. I know it'll probably be better to pair one of the harder science classes with one of the lighter classes (psych/nutrition), but due to personal reasons, I need to take both of the lab courses this fall semester. I'd like to have the flexibility of Lifespan Psych and Nutrition for Spring 2012 since those classes are both offered online, so I can start working again.

Ideally, I'd like to squeeze in an extra class though this fall. I'd like to take A&P II, Microbio, and either Psych or Nutrition, but not sure what the work load is like in Lifespan Psych and Nutrition. I took A&P I during the summer, and it was a pretty big time commitment. I'm imagining that it will be the same with both A&P and Microbio, but since General Psych was pretty straightforward and easy, I'm wondering if Lifespan Psych will be about the same? Did anyone find Lifespan Psych significantly harder/bigger time commitment than General Psych? What about Nutrition? Again, both classes are online, which I prefer since I learn better reading on my own. But, I don't want to overload on classes either.

Thoughts?

Thank you!!

I found the time commitment to rank (greatest to least) A&P2, Micro, Lifespan then Nutrition. I took Nutriton online and it was very straight forward, as I would imagine taking Lifespan online would be too. Don't underestimate the amount of time that both sciences will require;reading, labs, case studies, memorizing and studying. But it depends on what else you have going on in your life at the same time. An accelerated ADN program schedules the 2nd semester students with Micro, A&P2, Lifespan and Nursing Fundamentals, so it is quite possible to accomplish.
