I'm currently on the waiting list for the nursing program and I have 3 pre-reqs that I'm in the process of finishing up. I put myself on the waiting list in November 2014. In the time in between, what can I do to prepare myself for the nursing program? I'm also looking into job shadow as we speak, talking to other nurses in the field of nursing that I know and have been reading my AP clinical applications book and going over drug calculations. Thank you for your response.:)
Normally I would advise against any kind of "reading ahead" or something like that, but it wouldn't hurt to pick up a fundamentals book and read it. Not really any way to prepare other than knowing the body systems, dosage calculations, and lab values.
I just found out that I will be I the nursing program of the Fall 2016. Hopefully I will be done with my pre-reqs for the summer of 2015. What will be good in my extra time before I get to the program? I was looking into more job shadows and get my CNA.
