preliminary denial in Vermont

Published

Oucchh! Just checking Vermont BON website and my application status is preliminary DENIAL and some deficient in my lacking number of hours in pedaitric subjects, Since I am international Graduate they recommend CGFNS-CES, i requested one thru re-evaluation but another problem arise. They sent another requirements for my school to fill out another lacking number of hours in Surgical and Medical Theories and because of the distance (USA-PI) the mailings will take so long... My question what will happen if their is preliminary Denial from the BON, I heard I can appeal it but I don't know what to do.. I hope Someone here have the same situation as mine and resolved this problem so that I could follow thanks.

They may still deny your application because they need to know that your training matches their training requirements. You may want to consider just waiting for the mail time

My PH friend's friend also ran into this same problem. She got her letter of denial also, thinking VT would be easier than the issues happening in CA. She's trying to find out how many hours is she short. Do you know what VT minimum hours are and if it was between the clinical AND theoretical hours?

Yes, their decision can be appealed, but you need to have the proper documents from your school and on their letterhead (original only) to show you did complete the minimum hours required, at least that's what she found out.

She also was told that her courses must be done no less than one academic year for completion between clinical and theoreticals, but not sure if this means "concurrent" like CA's in the same semester. She is sensing that VT is going to be just as tough as CA.

The last I heard from two weeks ago is that she might just apply to another state, but that state was not mentioned to me (us).
