Hello, I'm applying for the prelicensure program in Southern California. Just wondering what GPA and TEAS V score is needed to be considered competitive. I know that there are several applicants for a small number of spots. I've been an LVN for over 3 years. I have a 4.0 in my sciences and I'm taking the TEAS this week. I just wanted an idea of what kind of score I need. Any advice is appreciated.

They look heavily at the TEAS overall score and TEAS reading score. They recommend a 3.5+ science GPA, a strong overall GPA, and an 85% or above on both the reading portion of the TEAS and the overall TEAS score. That's recommended, but a number of applicants score well over 90% on both reading and overall on the TEAS. It's a holistic approach overall though and your TEAS and GPA are just one of many factors taken into consideration.
I just took the TEAS and I didn't get the score I wanted. I'm so upset. I only got an 84.7%. Looks like I'll have to take it again.
You can always apply and try to get in with your current score while studying to retake the TEAS.
Yes, that's my plan. I'm still so surprised over my score. I felt like I knew most of the answers. Oh well. Hopefully the next one will be better. Do they take the most recent? Or highest? I'm just worried that if I take it again, the score will be lower and I'll be in an even worse position.
That I'm not sure, but you can call WGU and ask and I'm sure they'll be able to tell you. Their number for the prelicensure program in specific and should be on the prelicensure website.

They take the highest score, so no worries about doing worse.
