preceptor differences

Loved the preceptor I worked with last week - by end of the week I was able to take on more patients on my own, and felt encouraged, and developed lots of confidence by the end of the week.

I worked with another preceptor, that doesn't seem to care if I do patients on my own or not - in fact, races me to new orders on patients I have taken on, so that I don't see the orders right away (so I miss things in the process, which causes me to miss them elsewhere), or gives me info on diff patients while I'm working on another patient, so that I don't hear all or remember all of what she is saying correctly and then later says "I told you that - remember...." - she keeps me in a constant state of confusion, to where I am not charting the things I would normally realize I need to - but haven't yet because I feel so scattered and before I can organize my thoughts she is criticizing me for having not charted it yet. lol

She's very scattered -but very organized at it. lol

Both were good -but man! differences in teaching/precepting can make a world of difference.
