I am currently working on completing my pre-requisites to enter either an ADN or a BSN program. I really slacked off in my first two semesters of school and the last semester ended up dropping all of my class. I simply wasn't motivated and would opt for extra hours at work over spending time in class. Last summer I obviously gained some motivation to obtain a degree when had unplanned twins. I realized that nursing is something that I really want to do and have been working on my pre-requsites. So far I have completed most of my general education requirements, PYSC 2301 and 2314 plus Anatomy and Physiology I. It was a bit disappointing but my Anatomy came back as a B (89.8 average but she rounded me down). My GPA went from approximately a 1.5 to a 2.7 to a 3.35 and I plan to apply after the fall 2015 semester. Will a B in Anatomy and Physiology hurt me? I am horrible and math and really struggle, what level would you consider the math on the HESI or the TEAS? I also wanted to ask for backup majors. With two children to support I can't really wait around for 2 years applying to schools so I'm trying to think of alternative programs that would accept my pre-nursing credits. I have been throwing everything I have into nursing I just have to deal with constant moving (going to my 3rd college next semester due to my dad always changing jobs) and changes in the program requirements.
Thanks for any answers you can give me! I really thought I was going to make an A in my A&P I and it has already taken a toll on my confidence level. It was all due to homework that I didn't have time to do with a 17 hour course load and twins. It really sucks because my lab grades were 99, 91, and 95 while my lecture tests were all 94, 92, 88. Oh well now...

Wow! Exact thing I went through this semester! Made all a's and when it came to the final it dropped me to an 88. The way I look at it is that a lot of people either make C's or even fail anatomy, so receiving a B is not too shabby! I actually start anatomy 2 tomorrow and I'm going at it full force! Regardless! You CAN take anatomy 1 again, or push forward and make an A in anatomy 2. Whatever you feel is best. Every competitive selection is different. At our school TEAS count for 60% and prereqs are 40%. Honestly you will be fine! But if you feel more confident, then take it again! Wish you the best of luck!
