So...why'd you title your post for pre-nursing students in IL, when you're asking about something not limited to IL. Normally I send people to post in the IL forums, but really you should search the pre-nursing forum for existing threads about the NLN tests and, if you can't find anything that way, repost this with a relevant title.
Hi Lasandra - In my opinion, the NLN practice tests are similar to the real test. Just make sure to go over each different topic and read the few pages of refresher stuff before you do the questions. Concentrate on your weak areas and you should be just fine. Also, do lots of practice questions and time yourself cuz the real test goes by QUICK!! When you take the actual exam make sure you don't leave anything blank. If time is running out just fill in the circles!!!! You'll at least have a 20%-25% chance of getting it right. It's better than leaving blanks!!!
Good luck to you. What school will you be applying to?
Don't stress! You have plenty of time to review and taking chemistry now will only help you for the test. Everything will be fresh in your mind so that's a huge plus. Just make sure to review a little everyday and once August rolls around you'll do great.
GOOD LUCK!!!
ps - I'm an Oakton student, so we're relatively close. I start the nursing program this fall. Are you applying for Harper's spring program?

I've been procrastinating every since I graduated from high about getting in some school nursing program. Now I'm ready to take it on. I've completed all of my pre-reqs I'm just awaiting to take the NLN exam in July. I was wondering if the practice tests are anything like the real thing? I'm very nervous
