Back up plans--anyone know about physical therapy etc

  1. and other programs out there that may be a good option?

I figured if I don't get into nursing school, I'll just use my pre reqs for something else. Are the physical therapy programs just as competitive?

    Hi Ms. Nurse Assistant,

I am not sure if I can consider my plan a back up plan...however, since getting into the program usually take some time (a year or two) I am planning on going to CSUN and take up Nutrition and Dietetics since all of the pre and core classes I am taking are transferrable to get my BS....but no matter what happen, my goal is still to get into nursing.
    good luck...

A good place to begin your research on occupations/career paths is bls.gov.

    Here's the entry about PTA's - http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos167.htm .

I think all nursing and allied health programs are in demand right now. PT requires more science prereqs than your average nursing program does.

The PT program and the PA program at my school are just as hard to get into as nursing if not harder because they take less students. The PT program at my school requires a doctorate and the PA program is a masters program.
