ADN w/ BS degree Not Nursing to NP.

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello!

I am new to this forum and would like to see if I can get some advice. I am working on my Associates in nursing. I already have a non-nursing BS and a graduate certificate in public health. I am looking for an NP program that would fit my needs? Do any of you have any thoughts?

Southshore, thank you so much.

I just wanted to say! I too am in enrolled in an ADN program at the moment, have my BS in Public Health, and aspire to be a Nurse Practitioner! However, I'm thinking about doing the concurrent program at ODU to get my BSN. I didn't know you could go straight from ADN-MSN, so I'm glad to know that so I can explore my options some more.

With VERY few exceptions- you will need to complete a BSN before enrolling in an NP program. The good news is that with a previous bachelor's, this is accomplished rather quickly once you pass NCLEX at a large number of schools.

VERY few exceptions, huh? That list someone else posted looks pretty long. Granted, not all of them are NP programs, but there seems to be MANY options.
