Hi just wanted to know if anyone else was tackling this beast during the summer. also i'm taking this class @ john tyler community college. anyone else mabybe? I really want to apply to a program in the spring. I'm not sure what to expect taking A&P during the summer and online:uhoh3:

I took A&P last summer. It was very intense and time consuming. I came out of it with an A, but I was not working. I don't think I would have made an A if I had been working. My professor was really hard, though. I don't know about taking it online. I think it would be a lot more difficult. My A&P teacher started teaching an online class this semester. I ran into him last week and was asking him about it. He said that over 30 percent of his class had dropped, and this was before the final drop date which is actually today. Like I said, though, my professor was the hardest one on campus. I have talked to other people who had a much easier time in their classes.

I don't want to discourage you. I think that you can do really well if you are self-disciplined and don't have a lot of outside obligations. I think the fact that you want to apply to the nursing program in the spring is a huge motivator for you, so I am sure you will do great.

Just use all the resources you have available to you. One thing that helped me A LOT with the physiology part of the course was the CD that came with the text. It had a lot of animations that helped explain some difficult concepts. I also asked for help the first minute I felt lost. I tried to never get behind. There are other resources to help you also. One such resource was looking at online models. If you go to google and type in something like A&P and muscles (or whatever you are working on) and models, you should be able to find some web sites that have actual photos of the models. I was able to find a lot of great online resources. It is also helpful to take photos of the models with a digital camera so that you can view them at home. I have heard other people say that it helped them to use the Anatomy and Physiology coloring books. Anyway, good luck! You will do great!!

Good Luck to you !!!!!! I think that you will be able to do it successfully because you want it bad. Just stay focused and use everything that you have to help you with the class. i am currently taking A&P 1 now and it is hard, at midterm i had a B, i have four more weeks, 2 tests 2lab exams, and 1 final left. I can't wait 'til it's over.

I took A&P I online and my teacher was horrible. She didn't answer our questions until after the exams and it just got worse. Anway, 60% of the students ended up dropping but I was determined to keep going and pass. I got a B and probably know more on the A level cause she was so hard. You can do it.

I think what is really hard are the tests. They ask detailed questions that are so hard to remember.

I did A&P online with labs at the school. We had open book tests that took every bit of the 2 hours she allowed. They were very tough. The hardest part for me was that when I didn't understand something, I couldn't easily formulate an email question about what I didn't get and by the time I had wrestled with it enough to write a clear question, I understood it well enough to move on to the next stumper. Dropping by during office hours to ask directly would have been much easier.

Good luck with your class. You will survive it!

Glad to see other people taking A&P online! I was getting nervous because no one I have talked to has taken/will be taking that course off campus. Looks like we will have to start some type of online study group when the semester begins! I have to take the labs at school as well as the exams, which are proctored and NOT open book eeek!

I took two A and P classes online from a teacher online. They were intense and only 11 weeks long. We got a cat in the mail for the second class to disect. It was the hardest class I've taken online, and I've taken several. If it is possible, try to find a study buddy, and make sure you understand what you are studying before you move on.

My teacher had an irritating habit of asking questions on tests that caused you to draw conclusions that weren't covered in the books.

One of my favorite sayings applies here: If you study to remember, you'll forget. If you study to learn, you'll remember. Good luck to you;)

I did a google search and found this site

I'm thrilled as this is going to help me so much to be able to study the models at home so I dont have to cram into the sicence lab to study them.
