Hi all,
I am a current student at laguardia cc with RN as my major, I applied for candidacy for this coming fall 2010 but unfortunately I didn't got the spot for the clinical phase of the program. Now I really feel so miserable for not getting into the program and really need a lot of advice from people who have the same experience as I do. I'm thinking of moving to another CUNY school like maybe BMCC but I'm not sure if they will let me retake my classes that has B's on it because basically that's the reason why I didn't get into the program here at laguardia, I had a B on 2 of my key courses, chemistry and A&P 1. The only thing is that, I don't want to wait for next spring, I believe right now CUNY only admit students for the spring semester and not for this coming fall semester because it's already late for admission. If so, I'm thinking of Beth Israel but I'm not too sure if they still have admissions for students this coming fall 2010, the only problem I got with private schools is the cost of the tuition fee, quite expensive. Does anyone here happens to know if it's too late for me to apply at any schools for this coming fall? and what is the best thing for me to do with my situation? Is it better for me to transfer to another CUNY school? or to transfer to a private school? please help

Why don't you go to tab = region and scroll down to NY...you might get more info from those in your area if you post it there.

Hey I am at LaGuardia and I got accepted. If you don't want to waste time you should go in a private school, thats your only option. CUNY will waste you a lot of time and with your current GPA it is going to be really difficult to get into anywhere without retaking classes.
If I was you I would definitely go to a private school, take student loans and although they are expensive, you can always work that out in the future by finding a job that offers tuition assistance or something else. The alternative would be nothing at all so I would go for a private school without wasting time towards an ASN but directly into a BSN and once you graduate you will have different options to evaluate. CUNY is cheap but unfortunately is going to waste your time and in the long run your money if you get stuck in their slowness.
Schools I would consider are Beth Israel, Adelphi, PACE etc, you can do a research on this website and find a lot of info.
Good luck to you and don't give up and you ill be fine.
