Pre Nursing Student Denied From Nursing

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello All,

Just asking for some advice. I am a 24 y/o F who was in pre-nursing school. My GPA is great as of right now but the college that I attended previously my GPA was not as great as it is right now at CCSU which is the reason I was denied. I want to become a nurse more than anything in this world but since I am getting older I was wondering what everyone thought about getting their LPN? Also is there any bridge program to go to RN? Would this be wasting my time or should I wait to apply to other schools next Spring for my RN degree? Any thoughts! Please let me know :)

You are never too old to become an LPN! :) Im sure if you became an LPN you could get your RN later. I know at my school there is a bridge program for it. Just take your time with it because it's never too late. It might seem to take forever, but it's all worth it in the end. If it's your dream, then fight for what you want girl! Good luck to you!!

Well then..I guess at 38 must be ancient!!

No such thing as too old!!!!

I am 36 and in school...ur never too old.. 1 lady in my class is in her 60's Good luck!

If it's the CCSU I know, they have very strict requirements for their school of nursing. I myself am from connecticut, there are few schools in CT (compared to other states). I suggest you look at NY, NJ, or PA (in our area NY has the most, and PA has an equal amount). I suggest you apply again and then consider other schools as options.

And I'm 23, started a program about a year ago, your not too far off from me. Many of the students in my RN ADN program are between 22-32, so you fit in just fine.

Oh dear. You think 24 is old? Just shoot me now.

Yes going the LPN-RN route is just fine.

Have you also looked into other RN programs in your area? I would apply to more than one program to increase your chances
