Pre nursing or cna?

Published

Being told to take a cna class before pre nursing? What is your thoughts on this & why or why not?

To the person who said most programs require it..... In my area NO program in my vicinity requires it. So I wouldn't make such a generalized presumption.

Personally I would look to see if your state will allow you to be a cna after your first semester of nursing school. If that's the case that's what I would do instead of wasting the money to train beforehand. I know of a few people that have failed the first part if nursing school because what they did on the job differed from what they were taught in school. So there was some confusion.

With all that said the students that already had a cna job were the first ones to get jobs as an RN.
