:welcome:

Hey Everyone!!

I've just registered for classes at Bergen Community College :typing

I have taken all the college pre-req's for A.A.S and now am re-taking my science courses for the Nursing Eve. Program, as it's been 5 years since I've been to school....:dzed: I am taking Mat 032 (because I stink at math) & BIO 109 (A&PI) for Spring 2009. Then I have PSY 106 & BIO 209 (A&PII) for the Summer session. AND THEN CHM 100 FOR Fall 2009, whilst I apply for the Nursing Eve. Program, the Application Deadline is Oct. 1, 2009!!!:omy:

I AM HOPING I PASS THE ENTRANCE EXAM:thnkg:

Here's the issue at hand, since I've been out of school so long, my brain seems to have been misplaced and I can't remember a darn thing.... :brnfrt:I've been reading books and taking practice tests, to prepare myself for the Entrance Exam in Oct. 2009, but my average seems to come out to an 80, and the College Math Practice Tests I completely fail all toghether!!

I was wondering do you really need to pass the Accuplacer (or whatever they call it now a days) with a 95% or higher. What does this mean you can barely get a question wrong.. ???

Is the waiting list truly long for the evening program?

I know it is competitive and I am certainly willing to do the work, but I am not A student more like a B, B+ student... with the exception of math that I have to struggle to get a B....

:plsebeg: Any insight and information and suggestions and experience is helpful. Have you recently passed the entrance exam? What can one expect? Do you need letters of recommendation prior to taking the entrance exam? Is it helpful?

Sorry for any poor grammer (at work and trying to get this out there while juggling a million different other things)

Your accuplacer score should have a percentile ranking. When I got in, it took a 95% or better to be considered and due to the fact that so many had applied, there we're people turned away that scored higher than that.

You know, I never got a percentile?

Of course, the utterly vain part of me is dying to know what I scored, percent-wise. You'd think I'd be happy enough knowing that I got into the program, lol! :icon_roll If you have any info into finding this info, I'd appreciate it.

(Bad, Laura! Bad!! );)

Did Bergen Community College change its entrance test recently? I believe it's now called the HESI entrance test students have to take and it is no longer the NET. Is there anyone here who has already taken the test? I would really appreciate it if someone would give me a little bit of info about it because I would like to have an idea what to study for. I know it consists of Reading (how long are the passages), Vocabulary (not sure what type - science related?), Math, Chemistry, Biology and AnP. Would anybody know if there is a time limit on this HESI entrance test? I really need some help.

Yes, I think we (DaddyO & I) were the last people to take the Accuplacer; it is now the HESI, which is more complex. I won't say "harder," because the Accuplacer wasn't easy, just based on subjects of more common knowledge.

I used the Kaplan book for NET testing, and I plan on using it for the HESI when I graduate because it is actually designed more for HESI than Accuplacer exam. It breaks down each subject and gives you 2 extensive practice exams with complete explanations at the end of the book. I would suggest perusing it at Barnes & Noble to see if you like it.

Aside from that, I have no personal info to offer. I think someone told me the time limit is four hours, but I can't swear to that - had a passing conversation with an former classmate who took the first HESI last semester, and do not remember for sure.

Good luck!

So I have my high school diploma and nothing else and would like to get into the Nursing day Program at Bergen community. Is there any pre-requistes i need to satisfy before applying?
