Pre-Nursing Attempting to get position in Hospital

Published

Hello All,

I'm currently a student attending UTA's Academic Partnership Program. I'm desperately trying to obtain an entry level position in one of the partnership hospitals. (THR, Baylor, Parkland, MCA). However, I have not received any call backs. I've recently obtained my CNA but I've been told the online application automatically kicks you out if you do not have 1 year hospital experience. I've also heard that because the positions our so competitive, you pretty much must have a referral from a current employee in the hiring department just to get an interview. I have only four more classes before I apply to the Nursing courses and I'm desperate for assistance. Any suggestions?:confused:

Jobs are tough to come by, especially tech jobs in the hospitals. It took me over 6 months of persistent applications before I got a job (with no prior experience) If you have the time to wait it out, then just keep applying. Or go to a long term care facility and get your years experience in. After that you will look more appealing to the hospitals.
